"GiantGenius" Cracks Aces

"GiantGenius"
"GiantGenius"

In Level 12 with blinds of 1,200/2,400 and an ante of 300, action folded around to the cutoff where "Standoff2327" limped in. "GiantGenius" was next to act and raised to 6,000 on the button. "sdandouli" three-bet shoved for 25,000 in the big blind and "Standoff2327" folded to put action back onto "GiantGenius," who called.

"sdandouli": {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
"GiantGenius": {6-Spades}{5-Spades}

"sdandouli" saw their aces look great preflop and they remained ahead as the flop came {j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, giving "GiantGenius" a pair of fives and a backdoor flush draw. One pair then became two on the turn {6-Clubs}, leaving "sdandouli" in need of hitting an ace, king, or jack to stay alive. Instead, a queen came on the river {q-Spades} and their aces wound up no good to result in their elimination from the tournament.

"shelah629" Gets a Knockout

"chopsuey"
"chopsuey"

In Level 11 with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and an ante of 250, "shelah629" opened the action with a raise to 6,000 in middle position and saw "chopseuy" three-bet shove for 25,600 in the small blind. "shelah629" called.

"chopsuey": {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
"shelah629": {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The two were off to the races with "chopsuey" needing to hold to stay alive. Instead, the flop [d5h7s] gave "shelah629" a pair of fives. "chopsuey" failed to improve as the turn {8-Clubs} and river {q-Spades} completed the runout and they found themselves dry on chips as the pot was shipped in the opposite direction.

"pay4medsch00l" Forced To Fire Another Bullet

"Stonniepokes"
"Stonniepokes"

In Level 10 with blinds of 900/1,800 and an ante of 225, "Stonniepokes" opened under the gun and saw action fold around to "pay4medsch00l" in the small blind, who put in a three-bet. "Stonniepokes" four-bet shoved for 55,000 effective and "pay4medsch00l" called.

"pay4medsch00l": {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}
"Stonniepokes": {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

"pay4medsch00l" was in great shape to double and the flop {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} left them needing to fade two outs twice more to see the pot shipped their way. Unfortunately for them, the turn {j-Diamonds} gave "Stonniepokes" a set of jacks and left them with one shot at hitting a two outer of their own. It didn't come on the river {5-Hearts}, giving "Stonniepokes" a full house and earning them the pot to take their stack over 200,000.

Meanwhile, "pay4medsch00l" wasted no time re-entering and received a new stack of 50,000 in the very same seat.

"BigBang" Chooses Not To

In Level 8 with blinds of 700/1,400 and an ante of 175, "BigBang" saw action fold around to middle position and opened to 2,800. "stephhub0331" was next to act in the hijack and three-bet to 9,800. Action made its way back to "BigBang" and they called, taking action heads up to the flop {3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. "BigBang" checked and "stephhub0331" made a continuation-bet of 9,000. "BigBang" called, bringing the pot size up to 41,100 and leaving them with 32,500 behind.

The turn was {4-Clubs} and "BigBang" checked again. "stephhub0331" made a pot-sized bet, effectively putting "BigBang" to a decision for the rest of their chips. They thought for about 20 seconds and then folded, resulting in "stephhub0331" taking down the pot with their second barrel.

"Tony tone40" Doubles; "Doni34" Takes the Chip Lead

"Tony tone40"
"Tony tone40"

In Level 6 with blinds of 500/1,000 and an ante of 125, the board read {5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades} with three-way action between "Tony tone40" in the small blind, "bigcov32" in the big blind, and "IReadYrSoul" in middle position.

"Tony tone40" was first to act and bet 4,000 into a pot of 12,600. "bigcov32" folded and "IReadYrSoul" called, taking action heads up to the river {2-Hearts}. "Tony tone40" bet 7,500, leaving 8,000 behind in their stack, and "IReadYrSoul" went all in. "Tony tone40" called off what was left to see if they would double or bust.

"Tony tone40": {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
"IReadYrSoul": {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

"IReadYrSoul" had only one half of the completed flush draw that the river brought and saw their river bluff shove with ace-high run into a set of eights, earning "Tony tone40" the double to take them over a starting stack.

Meanwhile, "Doni34" has amassed a stack of 199,000 since returning from the break and is now atop the counts as the field nears in on 150 entries.
