Shak Doubles

A short-stacked Dan Shak has just moved from 8,400 to 18,000 after his pocket kings held up against an opponent's {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}. The two got it all in before the flop and the board ran out {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} giving Shak two pair, kings and nines, to claim the pot.

Madsen's Bluff Fails

With over 15,000 in the middle on a montone flop of {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}, Jeff Madsen bet 20,000 to put his opponent at a decision for the rest of his stack. The player had just over 19,700 remaining and tanked for a few minutes before making the call.

Madsen wasn't thrilled when the player called. Madsen held {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} and the other player held {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and the river the {10-Hearts}. Unable to improve, Madsen sent over the chips and dropped to 25,000.

Luske Moves to 75k

Marcel Luske
Marcel Luske
We caught up to this hand with the board showing {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Marcel Luske had an opponent all in and drawing with the {A-Spades}{J-Spades} against Luske's {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The turn brought the {Q-Diamonds}, giving Luske's opponent additional outs to make a straight, but the river blanked -- {7-Diamonds} -- cementing the hand for the Flying Dutchman, who now has just over 75,000 in chips.

Break It Up

The tournament clock has been paused while the remaining 545 players go on their last 15-minute break of the day. When play resumes, we'll play two more levels to wrap up the day.

Lee Wins the Last Pot of Level 6

William "weeminer" Miner opened the pot to 1,025 from early position, and he found five callers (Eric Froelich, Bernard Lee, the button, and both blinds). The six of them watched the flop came out {2-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}, and the action checked to Lee. He fired out 3,350 chips, and he was called by only the button.

Heads up now, the {9-Spades} turned on fourth street. Lee stacked together 7,200 chips as the break clock ticked away, and he slid it into the pot. His opponent re-checked his hole cards several times and shook his head as he reluctantly released his cards into the muck.

That pot moves Lee back up over his starting stack to about 34,000.

Play Resumes

Players have returned to their seats, the clock restarted and play resumed.

Unfortunately, we have not. We've been experiencing some major Internet difficulties throughout the day and are currently battling a major crash.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we've been assured by Atlantis staff that the problem should be resolved momentarily.

Cammarota Takes One From Makhija

On a flop of {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}, Alfonso Cammarota checked the action over to Amit Makhija. Makhija bet out 2,000 and Cammarota called.

The turn brought the {7-Clubs} and both players checked. After the river fell the {J-Spades}, Cammarota bet out 6,000. Makhija made the call and watched as Cammarota rolled over {8-Spades} {7-Spades} for three sevens. He's now up to 40,000 while Makhija dropped to 12,000.

Alaei Feeling Non-Committal

Daniel Alaei opened with a middle-position raise, though the amount was unclear. A few seats over, Eric Tomberlin three-bet to 5,500, and Alaei came right back with a four-bet to 14,000 straight. His opponent asked for a count on the remainder, and Alaei told him he had, "about 24 behind."

With a double-clutch, Tomberlin grabbed his remaining chips and moved all in with the covering stack. Alaei shook his head and quickly folded, leaving himself those 24,000 chips to fight with in a better spot.
