Banzai!

Praz Bansi
Praz Bansi
British pro Praz Bansi has just improved to 342,000 on the day after a recent hand against Frenchman Ludovic Lacay.

We caught up to the hand on the flop with the board showing {Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Lacay checked to Bansi who fired a 6,000 bet. Lacay made the call and saw the {J-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Another check, bet (13,800), call sequence brought us to the river, where the {A-Clubs} hit the board. Lacay checked, Bansi bet 42,000 and Lacay made the call.

At the showdown, Bansi revealed {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a runner-runner flush to claim the pot. Lacay never showed his cards and was left with 98,000 in chips after the hand.

Ole!

Carlos Mortensen
Carlos Mortensen
Down to 33,700 lonely chips, Carlos Mortensen got them all in before the flop with {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}. He was looked up by an opponent with pocket tens, and the race was on.

Things weren't looking good for the Matador as the dealer ran out a blank flop of {J-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. The {2-Clubs} on the turn was no help either, but the {K-Hearts} that rivered was quite helpful indeed. Snagging his pair of kings just in time, Mortensen has doubled his way up to just about 70,000.

Double or Nothing for Negreanu

Just before the break, Daniel Negreanu finally found himself a double up at the hands of Eric Froelich. All the money went in preflop, Negreanu's pocket jacks in good shape against E-Fro's two nines.

The board ran out clean as a whistle for Kid Poker, and he's back up to 84,000. Don't worry about Froelich, he's still atop the leader board with 380,000.

Grahammy Winner

Matt Graham on Day 1b of the main event
Matt Graham on Day 1b of the main event
Tournament pro Matt Graham is making some serious waves down here in The Bahamas on Day 2, having practically doubled his T146,700 starting stack, just four levels in.

In a recent hand, Graham stacked an opponent and added another 30,000 worth of chips to his own stack when his {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} help up against his opponent's {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} in a preflop all-in showdown, after the board filled out {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Graham is currently sitting with just over 275,000 in chips and shows no signs of slowing down as we approach the late stages of Day 2.

Deeb Back Down

With a board of {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {9-Spades} laid out in the middle of the felt, Freedy Deeb led out with a bet of 10,000. His opponent jacked up the price to 25,000, enough to put Deeb all in. Deeb sat in the tank with his remaining 14,500 and thought about the decision while getting a massage. After a few minutes, he let his hand go and began licking his wounds.

Sands Slips

From middle position, David "Doc Sands" Sands opened the pot to 5,000. He found a call from the player on the button, and the two men went off to a heads-up flop of {A-Spades} {5-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. Sands continued out with a bet of 6,200, and his opponent made the smooth call.

Fourth street brought the {9-Spades}, and Sands loaded the gun again. He fired another 11,700 chips at the pot, only to see his opponent move all in for 44,200. Sands made a pretty quick call, and the cards were on their backs.

Showdown
Sands: {A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}

Well, what are you going to do there? Sands flopped top and bottom pair, but he was in bad shape against the all-in player's middle set. Only an ace would send the pot to Sands, but the river was a blank {K-Clubs}.

After shipping that double up across the felt, Doc Sands has slipped back to about 83,000.
