Color Up and Break

We've ticked down through another level, and the remaining 144 players are on a 15-minute break. During the down time, we'll color up and race off those pesky pink T500 chips.

Cassidy Chops One

On a flop of {10-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Diamonds}, Joe Cassidy bet 19,000 and was called by his opponent. The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Cassidy checked. His opponent fired 32,000 and Cassidy called.

The river card was the {8-Clubs} and both players checked. Each player turned up {A-?} {10-?} and chopped up the pot.

Cassidy's on about 280,000.

Yockey-ing for Position

Ship the double up to the man with the double name
Ship the double up to the man with the double name
Bryce Yockey opened with a raise from late position, and [Removed:197] made the smooth call in the next seat over.

Heads up, the flop brought {4-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Yockey continued out with a bet of 23,500, only to see [Removed:198] raise it up to 62,000. Without too much delay, Yockey shoved all in with his massive stack, and [Removed:198] made teh call for his tournament life, all ~265,000 of his chips now committed to this pot.

Showdown
Yockey: {J-Clubs} {9-Clubs}
[Removed:198]: {K-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}

It was the right play by [Removed:198], but he would need to fade a ton of outs from the hot-running Yockey to stay afloat. Somehow, the turn and river were both red blanks, and [Removed:198] secured his big double up.

[Removed:198] - 550,000
Yockey - 940,000

Trying to Three-bet Ivey with Five High

From the cutoff seat, Phil Ivey raised. The button then reraised and Ivey called. The flop came down {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {3-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and both players checked again. The river was the {3-Diamonds} and two more checks followed.

Ivey and his opponent both played the board; Ivey with {10-Clubs} {8-Clubs} and his opponent with {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}. Ivey gave the player a glare when he showed his hand, showing he three-bet him with five high.

Ivey's on 490,000.

Bonomo Rising

Zzzzeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Zzzzeeeeeeeeeeeee!
After a player opened to 14,000, Justin Bonomo three-bet to 40,000. The original raiser called, bringing the two players to a flop of {K-Clubs} {8-Spades} {4-Clubs}. The first player checked and then Bonomo fired 50,000. His opponent folded and Bonomo moved himself up to 905,000 chips. He's now up towards the top of the pack.

Mortensen Doubles

After Praz Bansi raised to 14,000 and one player flat-called, Carlos Mortensen shoved in for 105,500. Action got back around to Bansi and he made the call with the other player then ducking out of the way.

Bansi held pocket tens -- {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} -- against Mortensen's big slick -- {A-Spades} {K-Spades}.

Mortensen went on to flop an ace and stay in front from there on the board of {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {4-Spades} {J-Hearts} {A-Clubs}. He now has around 230,000 chips while Bansi slipped back to 855,000.

Oh, the Drama

A player under the gun open-shoved for about 110,000 total, and he almost made it safely around the whole table. In the big blind, though, Alex Kamberis looked down at {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and insta-called, putting his opponent's {10-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} in bad shape to double.

The flop was, well, pretty awesome. It came out {J-Spades} {10-Spades} {9-Spades} to give the at-risk player his set of tens, but he wasn't out of the woods yet as Kamberis had flopped open-ender. Sure enough, the tide turned when the {8-Spades} peeled off the deck, pulling Kamberis back into the lead with his straight to the queen.

The all-in player still had hope. There was four to a split-pot straight flush on board, and a board pair would give him the superior full house as well. It wasn't meant to be though; the blank {6-Diamonds} filled out the board, and Kamberis pumped his fist in celebration.

After picking up that knockout, Kamberis is up to 385,000.

Seed Sprouting

A shrug from Huckleberry as he sees he's racing
A shrug from Huckleberry as he sees he's racing
First into the pot, Huck Seed came in with a raise to 47,000. It's a curious play that left him with just 18,000 chips behind. Action passed to a player in middle position who moved all in over the top, and Seed quickly committed his remainder, now all in and at risk. Cards up, gents:

Seed: {K-Spades} {J-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Hearts} {8-Spades}

The flop was a big dry desert for Huckleberry as it came down {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. Salvation came, though, as the {J-Diamonds} binked the turn to pull him into a big lead in the hand. He'd fade the two-outer as the river was a safe {6-Diamonds}, and Seed has doubled his way up over 140,000.

Bentley Going in Reverse

Wayne Bentley
Wayne Bentley
Robert Mizrachi opened with a preflop raise, and Wayne Bentley made the call in the next seat over. The two men went heads up the rest of the way, and Mizrachi followed up his raise with a bet on the {8-Spades} {9-Spades} {A-Diamonds} flop. Bentley quickly called, and the turn brought the {Q-Hearts}. Mizrachi checked with a withdrawn look, and Bentley took the opportunity to make a bet of 24,500. Mizrachi quickly check-raised to 95,000 straight, and that was enough to win him the pot as Bentley sent his cards back to the dealer.

Mizrachi is up to 340,000 after that nice little pot.
