Baker Burnt

Amanda Baker did everything right. Facing a decision for the bulk of her chips, Baker made the right call but a fateful river card took the wind out of her sails.

We caught up to the hand on the flop with the board showing {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Aage Ravn led out with a 150,000 bet from the big blind and Baker tank called.

The {9-Spades} fell on the turn and Ravn immediately moved all in, sending Baker back into the tank.

"I think I have the best hand," said Baker.

"Maybe," replied her opponent.

Apparently that was all she needed to hear. Baker made the call and tabled {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for top pair. Ravn tabled {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

The last card off the deck was the {A-Spades} giving Ravn a better pair and a dejected Baker was left with 540,000 in chips.

Ravn stacked up 2.23 million after the hand.
