Somerville Can't Stand the Pressure

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Jason Somerville was in middle position when action folded around. He threw in a standard raise to 5,500 and was reraised to 13,800 by the player on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Somerville made the call. After the flop fell {2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Somerville checked and the button bet 16,400. Again Somerville called and then checked the {10-Diamonds} turn. The button gathered some chips and fired out 34,400. Somerville considered it for a moment before conceeding the hand. He is still sitting decent with 160,000.

Corkins Lays It Down to Alaei

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Action folded to Hoyt Corkins on the button and he raised to 4,800. The small blind declined to come along but Daniel Alaei called from the big. The duo watched as the flop fell {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Both players checked and watched as the {5-Hearts} was turned.

At this point Alaei led out for 7,200, Corkins called, and the {4-Diamonds} peeled off on the river. Alaei again led out, this time for 16,500, and Corkins went in the tank. After a couple minutes he folded his hand, leaving himself around 70,000 behind.

Nacho Sliding

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante
Nacho Barbero
Nacho Barbero

The board read {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and Nacho Barbero's bet of 7,000 was called by an opponent. The {K-Diamonds} hit the turn and Barbero bet 15,000. His opponent went all in for another 11,400 and Barbero was peeved, but made the call anyway.

When his opponent showed {A-Spades}{3-Spades}, Barbero mucked his hand. Still, he was required to show and the dealer turned over {Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The river was a meaningless {4-Clubs} and Barbero is down to about 51,000.

Viktor, Meet JP

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante
JP and Viktor
JP and Viktor

From the button, JP Kelly opened with a raise, and small blind Viktor Blom reraised an additional 11,500. Kelly four-bet another 16,500 on top of that, and Blom called to see a flop.

The two Team PokerStars Pros checked through the {9-Clubs} {2-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} turn, and the {K-Clubs} landed on the river. Blom decided to stab at the pot with a leading bet of 15,000, and Kelly sat still for just a few seconds.

"Three kings?" Blom asked with a smirk. After another moment or two, Kelly grabbed his whole stack and raised all in, and Blom's fold came instantly. He's down to about 70,000 now.

Vedes Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Tommy Vedes
Tommy Vedes

Just before the end of Level 12, Tommy Vedes committed most of his stack preflop to see a flop come out {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. His opponent went all in and with about 17,000 behind, Vedes called all in with {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Unfortunately, he was crushed by his opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. The {2-Spades} turn and {4-Spades} river only improved his opponent to the nut flush and Vedes' tournament is over.
