Welcome to Day 2

Pieter de Korver
Pieter de Korver

With the two Day 1 flights combining for a total of 1,560 entrants, the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is now officially the largest one in history. After both starting flights, that number has been whittled down to 645, which is still quite the field size in itself.

Leading the way will be Team PokerStars Pro Pieter de Korver. The 2009 EPT Grand Final champion and will enter Day 2 with 245,300 chips. Rounding out the top five are Walid Bou-Habib (239,000), Ryan Olisar (227,700), Timothy Finne (225,100) and Carol Ventura (225,000).

That bunch may not be the most notable names, but we've got you covered in that respect as well. Some of the big names who will start today with big stacks are 2009 Festa al Lago champion Tommy Vedes (220,200), Team PokerStars Pro and 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker (217,600), WPT Borgata champion Dwyte Pilgrim (194,200) and 2009 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic winner and multiple WSOP gold bracelet holder Daniel Alaei (189,300). Joe Cada has 105,200 and Phil Ivey will enter the day with 75,600, while McLean Karr (22,500) and Will "The Thrill" Failla (13,500) are both short.

Out of the remaining competitors, 232 of them will make the money. The bubble may bust towards the end of the day if the players move things along steadily, but don't count on it. One thing is for certain though, there's plenty of fire power left in this field and you can follow all of the action right here on PokerNews.

Stay tuned, play kicks off at noon local time!
