Selbst Busts Leah Just Before Break

Just before the break, Mike Leah min-raised to 2,400 from early position and was called by a player in middle position. Vanessa Selbst three-bet from the big bind. Leah called all in for 15,200, the other player folded, and the hands were revealed:

Selbst: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Leah: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, ending Leah's Main Event.

Phillips Out

Dennis Phillips on Day 1b.
Dennis Phillips on Day 1b.

We missed the action, but here's what Dennis Phillips' last hand looked like:

Phillips: {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Chris Klodnicki: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Board: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

We know that the money was in the middle before the river, because Phillips' reaction to the {5-Diamonds} was what drew us to the table. Klodnicki happily stacked his newfound chips, and is still flirting with 100,000.

More for Garcia

Serg
Serg

Sergio Garcia and an opponent checked with the board reading {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and the {k-Hearts} completed the board. Garcia's opponent led for 2,500, and Garcia min-raised, tossing out a blue T5,000 chip. His opponent quickly called, and turned over {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a set of queens.

Garcia tabled {10-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a king-high straight however, and raked the pot to push his stack to 92,000 chips.

Victor Victorious

Victor Ramdin on Day 1a
Victor Ramdin on Day 1a

Under the gun, Victor Ramdin raised to open the pot, and he called a three-bet from Michael Mizrachi who was in position on the button.

Heads-up, the dealer fanned out {A-Clubs} {4-Spades} {2-Hearts}, and Ramdin check-called 5,000 more from Grinder. On the turn {6-Clubs}, though, Ramdin check-raised from 10,000 to 21,000, and now it was Mizrachi doing the calling, leaving himself with just about 30,000 behind.

There was about 70,000 in the pot going to the {K-Hearts} river, and Ramdin shoved in for about a pot-sized bet. Mizrachi spent a couple good minutes soaking in the tank, but he eventually decided that starting stack was enough for now, and he surrendered his cards into the muck.

Leif Forces Opponent Out, Rivet Eliminated

Leif Force checked with the board reading {3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}, and his opponent bet 3,100. Force check-raised to a hefty 20,000, and his opponent called.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board, and Force moved all in for 42,300. His opponent tank-folded, and Force raked in the pot.

At an adjacent table, we watched Guillaume Rivet collect his things and leave. Upon review, we saw that Rivet had {a-}{q-}, his opponent had {k-}{k-}, and Rivet received no help from the board.
