Jensen Back in Action

Greg Jensen (from the Super High Roller final table)
Greg Jensen (from the Super High Roller final table)

Fresh off of a sixth-place finish in the Super High Roller for $286,200 just a short while ago, Greg Jensen has taken his seat in the Main Event.

Unfortunately for him, his Main Event hasn't started very well. We picked up the action with the board reading {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and about 10,000 in the pot. Jensen checked it over to his opponent who bet 6,000. After a few moments, Jensen clicked it back to 12,000.

His opponent was quick to move all in and Jensen folded his hand after about 10 seconds, leaving himself with about 6,000.

Kenney Doubles Through Cuello

Sam Grafton opened with a raise to 700 and Jorge Cuello called right next door. A third player tagged along and it folded around to Bryn Kenney who stuck around from the big blind.

With four to the flop the dealer showed {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Kenney and Grafton checked to Cuello who shot out 1,700. The other player folded and Kenney dipped into his stack. When he came out, the action was raised to 4,100. Grafton threw his hand away and Cuello flat called.

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and Kenney continued with his aggression by pushing out 5,000. Cuello thought for about a minute before asking Kenney how much he had behind. After taking a look at Kenney's stack, Cuello raised enough to put him all in which was a bet of 11,625 total. Kenney snapped him off and showed {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights. Cuelleo tabled {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and was looking for a king on fifth to send Kenney home.

The river was the {9-Hearts} and Kenney was able to secure a double up and continue his massage at the table. He's currently sitting on about 34,000.

Garcia Bets Out Corkins

Hoyt Corkins and Sergio Garcia
Hoyt Corkins and Sergio Garcia

We found Sergio Garcia and Hoyt Corkins looking down at a board with royal possibilities. The board read {Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{K-Spades} and Garcia checked to Corkins.

Corkins bet 600 only to have Garcia slide out a check-raise to 1,200. Corkins three-bet to 3,600 and Garcia came right back over the top with a four-bet to 6,200. Corkins then went into the tank for about thirty seconds. He peeked down at his cards and ultimately decided to let them go, awarding the pot to Garcia.

Ho Busts Two After Flopping Straight

Maria Ho
Maria Ho

When we arrived at the table, the flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} was in the middle of the table and the action was on Maria Ho following a check by the first player. She bet 1,100, and Ted Lawson was next to act. He raised all in for 8,250 before the next player took a minute, then reraised all in for around 20,000. After the first player folded, Ho snap-called.

The reason Ho called so quickly was because she flopped the nuts with the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. She also had outs to a straight flush, putting her in excellent shape. Lawson held the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for the nut flush draw, and the other player held the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for bottom set. Ho had the most chips, meaning her two opponents were at risk, but both had outs.

Ho faded the turn as the {9-Clubs} fell, and the river was also a brick as far as she was concerned when the {Q-Diamonds} hit the felt. Ho's straight held up, and she won the pot. With the hand, Ho sent Lawson and the other player packing while shooting her stack up to 85,000.

Richey Firing Away

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

From early-middle position, Brett Richey raised to 600. He was called by the players in the cutoff seat and the big blind before seeing a {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. After the big blind checked, Richey fired 1,400. The cutoff seat folded, and the big blind called.

The turn was the {9-Hearts}, and the big blind checked again. Richey stayed on the gas and bet 3,200. His opponent folded, and Richey won the pot.

Elder Flushes Out Competition

We found Rupert Elder and an opponent staring down at a board that read {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. Elder's opponent bet out an unknown amount and we saw Elder move out a raise to 8,400 total.

Elder's opponent quickly announced a call but found himself shaking his head after Elder showed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a turned flush. Elder's opponent mucked his cards and Elder dragged in the pot. He's currently sporting about 60,000.

Jensen Back Above Starting Stack

Down to about 6,000 not long ago, Greg Jensen just doubled up to get back above the 30,000 mark.

We caught up the action after the {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop and Jensen had bet 2,400. His opponent re-raised all in, putting Jensen to a decision for his remaining 12,275. After about two minutes in the tank, Jensen called all in with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

His opponent had many outs to win with {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, but Jensen took away a few of those when the {9-Hearts} turn made his a straight. Jensen dodged the clubs when the {7-Hearts} river completed the board.
