Altman Runs Jacks Into Kings

We're not sure of the preflop action, but we do know Brian Altman found himself all in for roughly 55,000 holding {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and in bad shape against the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} of Day 1b chip leader Ashton Griffin.

The TV cameras swarmed the table to catch the action, which played out just like everyone expected as Griffin's kings held on a {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} board. "Good game, guys," Altman said before taking his leave.

Tremzin Eliminates Richard

Paul Richard got his stack of around 40,000 all in preflop holding {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and at risk against the {A-Clubs}{7-Spades} of Gleb Tremzin. Although Richard was behind, he held to live cards. Unfortunately for him, he saw neither of them as the board ran out a dry {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}. With that, Richard exited the tournament shy of a payday while Tremzin chipped up to 340,000 and should be able to coast into the money.

Stout Eliminated Guillaume

Laurain Guillaume was all in from the hijack for about 85,000 with {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, but found action from Matt Stout in the small blind with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Stout scored the elimination when the board ran out {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{A-Clubs}.

Rumen Noodles

Rumen Nanev was all in for his last 80,000 or so holding {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, but he was crushed by Max Silver's {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}, and Naney was eliminated.

Silver, who had aces cracked on one of the last hands of play on Day 2, is now up to around 370,000 chips.

Roy Climbing

The board read {4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Jonathan Roy led out for 12,300. His lone opponent, Magnus Sellen, pushed out a raise to 23,500. Sellen, seated to the direct left of Roy, proceeded to turn and stare Roy down as he made a decision.

Sellen's eyes never broke contact with Roy's face as Roy cut out enough chips to make a call. A sullen Sellen showed {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} for the second best hand behind Roy's {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for kings and fours.

By dragging this pot Roy has built his stack up to 520,000.

Boeken Busts

All in and at risk with {k-Spades}{6-Spades} against the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} of Jonathan Roy, Noah Boeken needed some help.

Unfortunately for the Dutchman, he was unable to improve enough as the board ran out {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, and was eliminated.

Roy, who recently shipped the first ever WPT Main Event held in Montreal, now has just under half a million chips.

Denis Done and Dusted

Michael Denis was all in and at risk holding {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} against Mazin Khoury's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

Denis was looking for help but did not find it as the board came {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}. By scoring this eliminatino, Khoury has now built his stack up to about 230,000.

Volpe & Philachack Are Off To The Races

Andy Philachack opened for 6,800 from middle position only to have Paul Volpe three-bet all in for 73,500 from the button. Both blinds got out of the way and Philachack made a quick call with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, which was racing agains the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} of Volpe.

The {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} didn't hit Philachack, but it did give him some counterfeit options. The {2-Spades} was uninspiring for Philachack, while the {5-Clubs} actually improved Volpe to a full house.

Meanwhile, Hoi Ting Lee has been eliminated from the tournament.

Smith Doubles Through Kramer

We caught up to find Elliot Smith all in and at risk against the larger stack of [Removed:172]. The cameras descended upon the table and the hands were turned over:

Smith: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Kramer: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board dropped down {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and Smith's aces were able to hold, securing his life in the tournament while at the same time taking a nice chunk out of Kramer's stack.

Anderson Doubles Through Bartholomew

All in for 42,700, Calvin "cal42688" Anderson was all in from the small blind with {K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Michael Bartholomew had him at risk from the cutoff with {A-Spades}{8-Spades}, but Anderson took it down when the board ran out {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{K-Spades}.
