Raskin Gets It in Good Again but Comes Up Short

Mickey Petersen, a member of PokerStars Team Online, raised to 24,000 from the cutoff and was met by a three-bet to 42,000 by Micah Raskin in the big blind. Petersen responded by moving all in for 240,000 and Raskin snap-called.

Raskin: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Petersen: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Once again Raskin got it in as a huge favorite, but lady luck was not in his favor. Instead, the {10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop delivered Petersen a pair of kings and the lead. Raskin could still pair his ace along with a gut-shot straight draw to a jack, but neither of those two things happened as the {4-Clubs} appeared on the turn followed by the {8-Clubs} on the river.

Michael Telker Eliminated in 15th Place ($69,980)

Michael Telker - 15th Place
Michael Telker - 15th Place

It's been a decent 2013 PCA for Michael Telker, who conquered a field of 57 players earlier this week in Event #7 $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo 8-Handed. Telker complimented that performance with a deep run in this event, but unfortunately his time in the tournament just expired.

It happened when he moved all in from the cutoff for 138,000 holding {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Sam Stein was in the big blind and didn't look excited to make the call, but he did so nonetheless with {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

The {6-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop was gin for Stein as it gave him trips and a hammerlock on the hand. Telker needed to catch a deuce to stay alive, but that didn't happen as the dealer put out the {Q-Diamonds} and {9-Clubs} on the turn and river respectively.

"Good game," Telker offered before making his way to the payout desk in 15th place.

Reinkemeier Can't Call

Tobias Reinkemeier led out for 33,000 on a flop of {6-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Vanessa Selbst raised to 84,000 in position, and Reinkemeier tank-called.

The turn was the {j-Spades}, both players checked, and the {4-Spades} completed the board.

Reinkemeier led for 86,000, and after 30 seconds or so, Selbst moved all in for effectively 250,000. Reinkemeier grinned, staring at Selbst, then turned his attention to the board.

After less than a minute, the German folded, and Selbst added to her chip lead.

Nick Schulman Eliminated in 14th Place ($79,960)

Nick Schulman - 14th
Nick Schulman - 14th

Two quick hands and Nick Schulman is out of the 2013 PCA $25,000 Super High Roller.

In the first, there was 200,000 already in the pot when we caught the action and a board reading {6-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. Schulman, who you may recall finished in third place in the $100,000 Super High Roller earlier in the week for $744,140, bet out 111,000 with {K-Spades}{3-Spades}, but he found out it was no good when Chris Klodnicki called with {K-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. That left Schulman with just 133,000.

Not long after, Schulman shoved all in from early position with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and received a call from Micah Raskin, who held {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} in the big blind. Schulman was ahead, but his bad luck continued when the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop paired Raskin's ace. The {5-Clubs} turn meant Schulman needed a seven on the river to survive, but that didn't happen as the {2-Diamonds} peeled off.

A crestfallen Schulman quickly exited the tournament area.

Lucky Sevens for Reinkemeier

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst opened for 35,000 from early position only to have Tobias Reinkemeier move all in for 127,000 from the big blind. Selbst snap-called with {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, but she was dominated by the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} of Reinkemeier.

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Reinkemeier's sevens held to give him a much-needed double.
