Hall Eliminates Ho

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante
Maria Ho - Eliminated
Maria Ho - Eliminated

Just before the break, Maria Ho was all in for her tournament life of about 110,000 against Thomas Hall. Ho tabled {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and was racing with Hall's {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}.

The flop came down {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, keeping Hall in the lead with his eights and leaving Ho searching to pair one of her cards. The {6-Spades} fell on fourth street, leaving Ho looking for either an ace or a queen on the river. It was not meant to be, however, as the {3-Diamonds} fell on the river and eliminated Ho from play. Hall dragged in the pot and now sits on about 430,000.

Stout Gets a Double Through Smith

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Matt Stout
Matt Stout

"All in and call!" was the yell from the back corner table of the room. When our reporter arrived at the table, Matt Stout was all in and at risk with the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} against Dan Smith holding the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

"Nice hand, nice hand," commented Smith when he saw Stout table his cowboys.

On the deal, Stout was actually dealt the {10-Spades} as one of his cards, but it flashed and he was forced to turn it in and get another card, which then turned out to to give him pocket kings.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs}, and Stout's hand held up. He doubled to over 500,000 while Smith was knocked back to 155,000.

Oboodi Is "Befuddled"

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

On the paired {J-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Bobby Oboodi checked, and then Fabian Ortiz checked over to Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst. Selbst bet 16,500, and Oboodi called. Ortiz check-raised to 42,000, and Selbst folded. Oboodi opted to call and see the turn.

On fourth street, the {7-Clubs} was added to the board. Oboodi checked with 129,000 in his stack, and Ortiz announced that he was all in, having Oboodi covered. Oboodi tanked for several long minutes, even claiming that he was "befuddled" by the hand. Eventually, the clock was called on Oboodi, and he folded with a few seconds remaining in the countdown. Ortiz didn't show and scooped in the pot.

Oboodi was left with his 129,000, while Ortiz climbed to 360,000.
