Seiver Will Not Defend his Title

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Scott Seiver - Eliminated
Scott Seiver - Eliminated

The 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Super High Roller champion is no more.

Guy Laliberté opened for a raise in early position, Scott Seiver called out of the small blind, and the dealer fanned {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Seiver checked, Laliberté continued for 33,000, and the defending champion check-raised to 75,000.

Laliberté moved all in for 274,000, and Seiver snap-called with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a set of sevens. The ONE DROP founder sheepishly revealed {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

"I need runner-runner," Laliberté said, grinning.

The French Canadian could indeed make a flush with running hearts, but Matt Glantz pointed out that he could also make a straight with any {j-}.

Low and behold, the turn was the {j-Diamonds} giving him said straight. The river was the {2-Clubs}.

Laliberté doubled to 600,000 chips, while Seiver was left with just 80,000. The very next hand he three-bet shoved over an open to 20,000 from Max Altergott. Altergott's {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades} was slightly ahead of Seiver's {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

"Just ask for runner-runner," Glantz joked.

Seiver didn't seem to think Glantz's comment was very funny, but after the board came {3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} he sincerely wished his tablemates good fortune for the remainder of the tournament.

On an adjacent table, Joseph Cheong was eliminated by Antonio Esfandiari with unknown action.
