Check-Raise from Makhija

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Amit Makhija
Amit Makhija

With approximately 20,000 in chips already in the middle on the {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} board, Amit Makhija checked, and Igor Kurganov bet 2,700. Makhija check-raised to 14,000 with 7,400 behind, and this sent Kurganov deep into the tank. After a long, painful-looking thought process, Kurganov folded the {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades} face up. Makhija didn't show and scooped in the pot.

Small One For Bonomo

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Georgios Sotiropoulos and Justin Bonomo saw a flop of {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} in a raised pot. Sotiropoulos checked and Bonomo announced a bet of 3,700. Sotiropoulos called to see fourth street.

The dealer put out the {Q-Clubs} on the turn and Sotiropoulos checked a second time. Bonomo bet 7,500, Sotiropoulos folded, and Bonomo brought his stack to 41,000.

One Deep Run Deserves Another

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Three players still alive here near the end of Day 4 cashed in the PCA Main Event a year ago, highlighted by one of the current big stacks, Shyam Srinivasan, who final-tabled last year and finished sixth. Both Tim Reilly and Dylan Linde also made the cash here in the Main Event in 2014, and have both already guaranteed themselves even better finishes this time around as described on the PokerStars Blog.

McDonald Flops Boat

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Picking up with the action on a board of {10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Mike McDonald checked his action over to Kory Kilpatrick on the button. Kilpatrick dropped out a bet of 5,700 and McDonald stuck around.

The river put two pair on the board with the {7-Clubs} and McDonald checked once more. Kilpatrick knocked the table back and McDonald showed {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} for a full house of sixes full of tens. Kilpatrick mucked his cards and McDonald was awarded the pot. He now has about 62,000 to Kilpatrick's 69,000.
