Schulz Tries a Slowplay

Level 29 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #6: Niklas Hambitzer opened for 165,000 on the button, and Juan Martin Pastor defended his big blind with {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Both players whiffed and checked the {6-}{j-}{k-} flop, and a {5-Hearts} hit the turn, followed by two more checks. The river {4-Diamonds} went check-check, and Hambitzer dragged the pot.

Hand #7: On a flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Kevin Schulz check-called 175,000 from Chance Kornuth. Both checked the {7-Clubs} turn, and a {3-Clubs} hit the river. Schulz had defended his big blind from an under-the-gun raise from Kornuth, and he bet out on the river with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, inducing a quick fold from Kornuth, who had ace-high.

Hand #8: Juan Martin Pastor raised to 180,000 from the button, and Chance Kornuth defended the big blind with {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}. He checked top two on the {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop, and Pastor continued for 150,000. A check-raise to 435,000 from the chip leader ended things.

Hand #9: Action folded to Kornuth in the small blind, and he popped it up with {q-}{6-} and folded out Hambitzer.

Hand #10: Kornuth opened the button for 160,000, but Diego Ventura woke up with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} in the big blind. He elected to just call, and he flopped Broadway as {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades} hit the felt. Check-check action led to a {10-Hearts} turn, and two more checks brought out the {k-Diamonds}. Ventura checked a third time and then called 115,000 from Kornuth, who was playing the board by now.

Hand #11: Kornuth got the {7-}{5-} off again, and this time his open from the cutoff took it down.
