Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Juan Etcheverry
Juan Etcheverry

Mario Puccini opened from early position and Juan Etcheverry called from the button.

The flop fell {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Puccini continued for 22,000. Etcheverry called to see the {J-Diamonds} turn where Puccini bet 50,000. Another call from Etcheverry landed the {7-Diamonds} river where Puccini bet 150,000. Etcheverry raised all in for 650,000 and sent Puccini into the tank for about three minute before he called.

Etcheverry tabled {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for an ace-high flush, Puccini mucked and Etcheverry collected the massive pot.

Ebanks Falls

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Dylan Linde opened to 13,000 from the cutoff and it folded to Tim Reilly who three-bet to 29,000 from the small blind. Joseph Ebanks four-bet shipped for about 110,000 from the big blind and Linde let go. Reilly instantly called and the hands were revealed.

Reilly: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Ebanks: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Reilly was in a commanding position with his pair of jacks and he retained that lead through a {2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} run out. Ebanks hit the rail and Reilly increased his stack to 545,000.

Sorensen Doubles Through Gomez

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With 50,000 already in the pot and a board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Naoya Kihara checked and Diego Gomez bet 21,000. Edward Sorensen raised that up to 45,000 and Kihara folded. Gomez moved all in and Sorensen took several minutes before deciding to risk his tournament life with {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the flush draw. Gomez had {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and was in the lead with his pair of nines.

That lead would vanish on the {6-Diamonds} turn as it gave Sorensen the flush and the river {J-Clubs} would change nothing.

"I knew you were on the flush," said Gomez. Sorensen just shook his head as if to say "what are you gonna do?"

Mercier Takes Two and Moves Over 500K

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

From the cutoff seat, Jason Mercier raised to 12,000. Shannon Shorr reraised to 33,000 from the small blind, and Mercier called to take a flop.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and Shorr bet 23,000. Mercier called, and the turn was the {A-Diamonds} to pair the board. Shorr checked, and Mercier bet 43,000. Shorr gave it up, and Mercier won the pot.

On the very next hand, Mercier opened to 12,000 from the hijack seat. Ole Schemion made the call from the big blind, and the flop came out {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Schemion checked, and Mercier bet 11,000. Schemion called, and the turn was the {J-Hearts}. Schemion checked, Mercier bet 34,000, and Schemion called.

The river completed the board with the {5-Clubs}, and both players checked.

Mercier showed the {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair, and Schemion mucked his hand.

Boukai Doubles Through Kornuth

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We arrived in time to see Rami Boukai all in and at risk over the top of a bet from Chance Kornuth. Action came back around to Kornuth and he called for 162,000.

Kornuth: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Boukai: {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Boukai was in the lead with top pair but Kornuth was drawing live with four to a flush and a backdoor straight draw. Unfortunately for Kornuth, the turn ({4-Diamonds}) and the river ({K-Spades}) failed to improve his hand and Boukai lived to see another day. He dragged int he double up chips and now has about 390,000.

Duhamel Busts Schiffbauer

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Robert Schiffbauer - Day1a
Robert Schiffbauer - Day1a

Jonathan Duhamel opened to 13,000 from the button and Robert Schiffbauer three-bet all in for 85,000 from the small blind. Noah Schwartz folded the big blind and Duhamel plopped out calling chips.

Duhamel: {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Schiffbauer: {Q-Spades}{j-Spades}

The flop came down {5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, keeping Duhamel's ace high in the lead. The Team PokerStars Pro paired his ace on the turn after the {A-Spades} hit the felt, but this also gave Schiffbauer outs to make both a Broadway straight and a spade flush. Nothing materialized for Schiffbauer, though, as the {2-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Duhamel scooped the pot and now has a stack of 240,000.

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Owen Crowe was all in for 83,000 with {A-Hearts}{7-Spades} against the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} held by David Eldridge.

The flop fell {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, giving Eldridge a commanding lead with a set of sevens. Crowe was drawing to running aces and he was half way there after the {A-Spades} turn, but the {3-Diamonds} river officially locked up the pot for Eldridge.
