In the very first hand of the day, Daniel Negreanu raised to 14,000 under the gun and chip leader Talal Shakerchi called from middle position. Bill Perkins came along from the button, both blinds folded, and the flop came down . Negreanu checked, Shakerchi bet 35,000, and only Perkins called to see the turn.
Shakerchi check-called a bet of 45,000 and then check-called one of 60,000 on the river. Perkins tabled the for top pair, and it was good as Shakerchi mucked his hand.
