Perkins Making the Most of Fourth Bullet

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

In the very first hand of the day, Daniel Negreanu raised to 14,000 under the gun and chip leader Talal Shakerchi called from middle position. Bill Perkins came along from the button, both blinds folded, and the flop came down {9-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Negreanu checked, Shakerchi bet 35,000, and only Perkins called to see the {Q-Hearts} turn.

Shakerchi check-called a bet of 45,000 and then check-called one of 60,000 on the {8-Diamonds} river. Perkins tabled the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for top pair, and it was good as Shakerchi mucked his hand.

Troyanovskiy Crippled, But Triples

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Vladimir Troyanovskiy started the day with 220,000 chips, but he had been crippled after unknown action, and just now we caught him all in and at risk for 18,000. Joe McKeehen three-bet from the button to 40,000, but folded after Justin Bonomo made it 105,000 from the small blind.

Troyanovskiy: {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Bonomo: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and Troyanovskiy stayed in the event, even though he still needs a lot more help.

Kenney Busts Mercier To Move Over 1 Million

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Mercier (Day 1)
Jason Mercier (Day 1)

With about 50,000 in chips on the {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, Bill Perkins bet 18,000 before Jason Mercier raised to 57,000. Bryn Kenney reraised to 114,000, and then Perkins folded. Mercier took some time before he moved all in for around 310,000, and Kenney quickly called.

Mercier tabled the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} for an over pair, but he was behind the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for Kenney, who had flopped middle set.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts}, and the river was the {9-Diamonds}. Both failed to give Mercier the improvement he needed, and he was eliminated.

Kenney scooped in the pot and moved to 1.1 million in chips.

Lehne Continues to Climb

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

With around 125,000 in the pot and a board reading {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, Erik Seidel bet 75,000 from the big blind and Kathy Lehne called from the button. When the {J-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Seidel checked and Lehne fired out 100,000. Seidel looked a bit unhappy and then ditched his cards.

Vogelsang and Perkins Battling

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From the button, Bill Perkins raised to 15,000. Christoph Vogelsang reraised to 43,000 out of the small blind, and Perkins called to see the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked, and the turn was the {8-Diamonds}. Both checked again, and the river was the {7-Clubs}. Again, both checked.

Perkins turned over the {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of kings, and Vogelsang mucked.

On the next hand, play folded to Perkins in the cutoff seat, and he raised to 13,000. Vogelsang reraised to 37,000 on the button, and Perkins folded.

Koon Continues to Slide

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Jason Koon raised from middle position and then called when Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst three-bet to 32,000 from the button. Both players checked the {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop, and then Koon led out for 31,000 on the {Q-Spades} turn. Selbst thought for a bit before making the call, and the {4-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Both players returned to checking and Selbst tabled the {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} for the win.

Adams Can't Outdraw Old Man Winter

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A preflop raising war saw Sean Winter get his stack of 135,000 all in against Timothy Adams.

Winter: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Adams: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Winter was well out in front, and that's just where he stayed as the board ran out an uneventful {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Ship the double to Winter.

Muehloecker Rivers Two Pair

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Thomas Muehloecker raised to 14,000. On the button, Dzmitry Urbanovich called, then Sam Greenwood called from the small blind, and David Peters called from the big blind.

After the {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop, play checked over to Muehloecker. He bet 32,000, Urbanovich folded, Greenwood called, and Peters folded.

Heads-up action on the turn saw the dealer add the {4-Clubs} to the board. Greenwood checked, and Muehloecker checked.

The river was the {5-Hearts}, and both players checked again. Muehloecker did tank for quite some time after Greenwood checked to him, debating whether or not to bet.

Greenwood turned up the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a pair of aces, but Muehloecker had rivered two pair with the {A-Spades}{5-Spades}, and he won the pot.
