Mandavia Moves In

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo raised to 90,000 under the gun plus two and David Peters called from the button after which Joe McKeehen called from the small blind. Ankush Mandavia was next to act and he moved all in after a while for 1,660,000.

Petrangelo enquire how much each of his three opponents had, and tanked for a bit before folding. Both Peters and McKeehen followed suit, and Mandavia picked up this pot before the flop.

Down Goes Perkins

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Bill Perkins
Bill Perkins

From the cutoff seat, David Peters raised all in for 705,000. In the small blind, Bill Perkins moved all in for 695,000. Everyone else got out of the way, and it was Perkins' {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} up against the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for Peters.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, and Perkins was eliminated in 10th place.

With his elimination, the remaining nine players were on the official bubble, and a $225,040 payday was just one elimination away.

Small River Bet from McKeehen

Level 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

After a long lull in the action at either table, Joe McKeehen and Bill Perkins finally played a hand with some substance, although it wasn't much.

McKeehen raised from the cutoff seat to 80,000, and Perkins called out of the big blind to see the flop come down {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. Both players checked, and the turn was the {A-Diamonds}. Perkins bet 85,000, McKeehen called, and the river was the {J-Clubs}. Perkins checked, and McKeehen bet 60,000.

"Why so little?" asked Perkins while he pondered. He then folded, and McKeehen won the pot.

Kanit's Nines Can't Do the Trick

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

With about 275,000-300,000 in the middle on the {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} board, Mustapha Kanit checked to Ankush Mandavia. Mandavia bet 150,000, and Kanit made the call.

The river was the {4-Hearts}, and both players checked.

Kanit showed the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, but Mandavia's {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs} was the better hand.
