McDonald's Kicker Plays

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Salman Behbehani opened for 2,500 in the cutoff, and Mike McDonald defended his big blind. McDonald check-called 3,200 on the {4-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop, and he checked the {2-Diamonds} turn. Behbehani checked back, and the river was a {6-Spades}. McDonald announced a bet of 8,000, and Behbehani immediately called.

McDonald showed {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, and Behbehani flipped over {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. At first glance, it looked like a chop, but McDonald's kicker played while Behbehani played the four.

Winter Sends Seymour to the Locker Room

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

As Charlie Carrel told it, former Super Bowl champ Richard Seymour shoved over an opening raise, only to have Sean Winter shove over that and isolate him. The opener folded.

Seymour: {5-}{5-}
Winter: {a-}{k-}

Seymour was racing, but Winter got the better of him with a king on the flop.

The other players at the table said it was Seymour's first bullet and he was talking about reentering, so he may yet make a return.

Kamran Survives the 2012 WSOP Champ

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We missed the preflop action unfold, but we do know Michael Kamran got his stack of 19,600 all in and was at risk against 2012 World Series of Poker champ Greg Merson.

Merson: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Kamran: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

The {k-Clubs}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts} flop paired both players, but Kamran was ahead with aces. That said, Merson had a bunch of outs. Unfortunately for him, and much to the relief of Kamran, neither the {7-Spades} turn nor {5-Spades} river was what he was looking for.

Boeree Runs into Aces Again

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Minutes after having re-entered tournament we saw Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree three-bet Mustpha Kanit.

Kanit had raised to 2,600 and Boeree made it 7,000 from the button after which both blinds folded.

Kanit made the call and the flop brought out {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} on which the Italian pro checked.

Boeree bet 8,000 on the flop and Kanit moved all in, putting Boeree at risk. Boeree gave it some thought before calling off another 32,000 and the showdown went as following.

Boeree: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Kanit: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and the river the {10-Clubs}, sending Boeree to the rail empty-handed.

"It's not my trip," Boeree sighed, but with a smile she left the tournament room.
