The turn paired the board with a {6-Diamonds} and Sammartino bet again, this time making it 2,800. His opponent folded and Sammartino took down another pot. He is on the upswing heading into the final half hour of the evening.

Newey Busted

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Paul Newey
Paul Newey

On the {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, Jeremy Ausmus checked, Paul Newey bet 3,600, Rinat Lyapin called, and then Ausmus folded.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, and Newey checked with about 11,000 left in his stack. Lyapin moved all in to put Newey to the test, and Newey found a call after a little bit of thought.

Newey had the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}, and Lyapin had the {K-Spades}{J-Spades}.

Newey and his aces couldn't fade the plentiful outs for Lyapin when the dealer smacked down the {3-Spades} on the river. Lyapin won the pot with a spade flush, and Newey was eliminated.

Foxen Over Liberto in Four-Bet Pot

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

William Foxen opened to 1,100 on the button and got a call from the small blind before Justin Liberto made it 3,550 in the big. Foxen came back with 7,600 after some thought, folding out the small blind, and Liberto quickly called. The two watched as {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flopped, and Liberto check-called a small bet of 5,100. He checked the {2-Clubs} turn, and Foxen went much bigger, all in for 23,800. Liberto looked pained and folded after a minute or two.

Sammartino Gets the Clock and the Pot

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Dario Sammartino was sitting in the small blind and deciding whether to call for 4,000. He took enough time to make his decision that someone at the table called the clock on him. Eventually he decided to call and four players would see the flop for 4,000 each.

The action slowed down dramatically once the flop came. The board read {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and the four players checked. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and Sammartino checked before Iaron Lightbourne bet 2,200. One player folded, Paul Volpe and Sammartino both called, leaving three players to see the river.

The river was the {q-Spades} and all three players checked. Sammartino was much faster at showing his {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} than he was making the call preflop, but Lightbourne and Volpe both mucked and Sammartino took down the pot.

McDonald Doubles Through Lehne

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Kathy Lehne fired 1,200 on the {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop before Mike McDonald raised to 3,600. Lehne called, and the dealer added the {6-Spades} to the board on the turn. Lehne checked, McDonald bet 5,500, and Lehne called.

After the {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Lehne bet 20,000, which was enough to put McDonald and his remaining stack of 10,250 all in. McDonald tanked for a little bit, then called. Lehne tabled the {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, but McDonald had the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and won the pot.
