Scharf Apologizes for Turning a Set

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Jeremy Scharf just eliminated his opponent after turning a bigger set.

The two players got all in on the turn and Scharf had turned a set of tens. His opponent had flopped a set of eights.

The river card made no difference and sent Scharf's opponent to the rail.

"Sorry man," said Scharf to his opponent.

"Why are you sorry?" another player questioned, "How many times has that happened to you?"

Feeling bad didn't change the fact that Scharf is now over 70,000 after the hand.

Pierre's Pressure

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

Pierre Neuville's river shove just got Ben Heath to fold his set of threes face up.

Neuville was in the big blind and five players saw the flop, including Heath. The action checked to Heath who bet 1,400 on the {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop. Then the action came back to Neuville who check-raised to 4,000. Heath called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Neuville fanned his chips out before scooping up a 6,150 bet. Heath called.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Neuville tossed his final 15,000 into the pot, going all in. Heath took a while and seemed to have a tough decision. He eventually folded and asked Neuville if he had a straight.

"No," said Neuville who showed a busted straight draw with {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Heath had showed pocket threes, {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} before folding and Neuville let out a sigh of relief.

"I thought he just had an ace," Neuville said as he stood up after the hand.

Srinivasan Doubles Up

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

There was some action before Mark Herm reraised to 4,125. Two players had 1,300 sitting in front of them already. One of those players was Shyam Srinivasan, who shoved all in for his last 13,425.

The player to his left folded and Herm called. Herm had {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Srinivasan had {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}. The hand was pretty much over when Srinivasan hit a set of jacks on the {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop.

The {3-Clubs} and the {9-Diamonds} that completed the board didn't make a difference and Srinivasan doubled up.

Negreanu Takes His Seat

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu joined the field recently and as usual, is very chatty with his table. While discussing the many tournaments available at the PCA, he mechanically tossed out a raise of 475.

Two players called and the dealer placed the {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop on the table. The action checked to Negreanu, who paused his conversation long enough to make his 900 chip bet.

The first player folded and the second player was thinking for a moment.

"The worst hand you would shove with here is pocket sixes," he said jokingly.

His opponent folded and Negreanu took the small pot.
