Chris Hunichen

Chris Hunichen pushed all in for 390,000 from the cutoff and Jason Koon re-shipped all in from the small blind. Benjamin Pollak folded the big blind and the cards were tabled.

Koon showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and Hunichen flipped over {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. "We got a bit of a sweat," Hunichen said about his live cards.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Koon took a massive lead in the pot. "That's not the sweat I was looking for," Hunichen laughed.

The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Hunichen was drawing dead to the {4-Diamonds} on the river.

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Isaac Haxton pushed his short stack of 260,000 into the middle from the cutoff. Timothy Adams was in the small blind and moved all in over the top, forcing Chris Hunichen to fold his big blind.

Timothy Adams: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Isaac Haxton: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Haxton would need to hit one of the two remaining sevens in the deck in order to stay alive. Unfortunately, the board ran out {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Haxton was the first player to be eliminated in the money.

Kurganov Eliminated on the Money Bubble

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

Igor Kurganov shipped all in for 330,000 from early position and Timothy Adams pushed all in over the top directly to his left. The rest of the table folded and the remaining two hands were face up.

Timothy Adams: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Igor Kurganov: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Kurganov joking threw one of his nines in the direction of the board as the dealer fanned the flop of {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. The second nine was incoming as the {7-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Unfortunately for Kurganov, none of his nines appeared on the board as of yet, and the {q-Hearts} on the river only improved Adams' hand to a set of queens. Kurganov was eliminated and the remaining eight players will be guaranteed at least $56,140.

Petrangelo Takes Down a Big One

Level 15 : 10,000/25,000, 24,500 ante

The play has been rather slow over the course of the level as the players teetered on the bubble. Just before the clock ran out on the level a big pot ignited between Benjamin Pollak and Nick Petrangelo.

Nick opened under-the-gun and Pollak defended his big blind. The flop came {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and both players checked. Pollak led out with the bet of 90,000 when the {4-Clubs} hit on the turn and Petrangelo flatted.

The {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Pollak slid out a big bet worth 300,000. Petrangelo hated the bet but would make the call. Pollak tabled the {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Petrangelo easily beat the bluff with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}.
