Mike Wang Bluffs His Chips Away
Mike Wang was involved recently in a pot with Sergei Shchiptsov. When we arrived at the table, Wang, first to act, had shoved all in with a covering stack on Shchiptsov. Action was on the river with over 14,000 already in the pot. Shchiptsov would have to call for the remained of his stack, a bit over 10,000, if he wanted to call. He was in the tank when we approached the table. The board read ![]()

It took him a bit to make the decision but eventually, Shchiptsov called. Wang turned up his ![]()
for a missed straight draw. Shchiptsov looked at the hand for a few seconds before realizing he'd won, turning over his ![]()
. His pair of nines, with the pair of jacks on the board, allowed him to take down the pot while Wang was caught bluffing and forced to send over a little less than half his stack.
