Richard Seymour Triples While Ben Yu Busts

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

With around 12,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Jan Dentler checked from the big blind and a player in middle position did the same.

Former NFL star Richard Seymour checked from the hijack, and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Ben Yu put out 3,500 in chips.

Dentler called, the middle-position player folded, and Seymour check-raised all in for 6,300. Yu responded by moving all in over the top for 19,800, and Dentler hit the tank before making the call.

Yu: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Dentler: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Seymour: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}

Seymour was way ahead in the main pot with trips, while Yu had the better kicker in the side. Unfortunately for Yu, the dealer burned and turned the {Q-Hearts} to pair Dentler.

The {6-Clubs} river was of no consequence and Dentler eliminated Yu while Seymour tripled back to the starting stack.

A Gross Way to Start the New Year

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jeff Gross recently hopped into the field, and in his very first hand things went awry.

Shaun Davis ended up moving all in for 8,400 and Gross called.

Gross: {a-}{k-}
Davis: {A-}{5-}

Gross was well out in front, and things look good on the {8-}{8-}{2-} flop. A {6-} on the turn meant the only way Gross could lose the pot was for a five to hit the river, and wouldn't you know it, a {5-} spiked.

"Bad start to 2018," was all Gross could muster.

Meanwhile, Gross' fellow Team Pro Igor Kurganov just entered the field.

Big Slick Suited Does't Do the Trick for Timothy Adams

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

Jake Cody raised to 1,500 from early position and Maximilian Gruenberger called from the hijack.

Lucas Blanco then three-bet to 5,500 from the cutoff only to have Timothy Adams four-bet to 12,500 from the big blind.

Both Cody and Gruenberger got out of the way and Blanco thought long and hard before making the call.

When the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Adams led out for 7,500 and Blanco, who had the bigger stack, moved all in.

Adams didn't take long to call off for around 35,000 total.

Adams: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Blanco: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Adams was drawing to the flush and two overs, which made him a slight favorite with two cards to come. Unfortunately for him, he was left high and dry after the {Q-Spades} bricked on the turn followed by the {4-Clubs} on the river.

Richard Seymour Clipped by Gavin O'Rourke

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

With the board showing {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{3-Spades} Gavin O'Rourke is first to act. There is already roughly 13,000 in the pot and O'Rourke puts out a bet of 8,000. Seymour drops into the tank as the bet represent a bit less than half of his remaining stack. Seymour thinks for a bit while camera crews begins to surround the table yet again.

Seymour eventually decides to call. O'Rourke shows his {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a full house. Seymour lifts his cards as if he's about to show, but upon seeing O'Rourke's card, he tosses them face down into the muck. That allows O'Rourke to take down the pot and bolster his stack while Seymour is left with right around 10,000 chips.

Timothy Adams Finishes Off Justin Bonomo

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Justin Bonomo in the $100K SHR
Justin Bonomo in the $100K SHR

We missed the elimination of Justin Bonomo, who last night finished runner-up to Cary Katz in the 2018 PCA $100,000 Super High Roller, but Jake Cody was kind enough to fill us in on what happened.

As he told it, Bonomo opened for 1,100 with {k-}{j-} and Adams called. Another player then moved in for 3,500 with what turned out to be {q-}{7-}, and Bonomo tried to isolate by jamming for roughly 12K total.

Unfortunately for him, Adams had gotten tricky with pocket kings and called. The cowboys held and that was all she wrote for Bonomo in the Main Event.
