Last Former PCA Champ Hits Rail, Harrison Gimbel Out in 56th Place

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Harrison Gimbel
Harrison Gimbel

Back in 2010, Harrison Gimbel won the PCA for $2.2 million. He was the last former champ in the field, but he won't be capturing his second title in 2018.

The Poker Triple Crown winner got his last 35,000 all in preflop and was racing against Michael Farrow.

Farrow: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Gimbel: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Gimbel needed to improve, but instead the [js7ssc] flop gave Farrow a set.

The {Q-Hearts} turn meant Gimbel could win with a ten on the river, but it wasn't in the cards as the {Q-Diamonds} paired the board instead.

Ace on the River

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ricardo Neto
Ricardo Neto

Gleidibe Goncalves raised to 13,000 from middle position and Ricardo Goncalves Neto three-bet all in for 67,000. Action folded back to Gonclaves and he opted to flip.

Neto: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Goncalves: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Neto needed to improve to stay alive, but he failed to do so on the {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop. The {8-Clubs} turn was of no consequence, but the {A-Hearts} river was. Neto spiked an ace and scored the double.

Bullet on Turn Ends Ramin Hajiyev

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ramin Hajiyev
Ramin Hajiyev

Up at the feature table, a short-stacked Ramin Hajiyev three-bet all in for 60,000 over the top of a Gleidibe Goncalves open. Goncalves called and the cards were turned up.

Goncalves: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}
Hajiyev: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Hajiyev was looking to dodge an ace, but that proved easier said than done as an {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} run out gave Goncalves a bullet on the turn.

Jonathan West Dispatches Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Up at the feature table, Vladimir Troyanovskiy got his stack of 188,500 all in preflop and he was at risk against Jonathan West.

West: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Troyanovskiy: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Troyanovskiy's best chance at staying alive was to catch an ace, and while he didn't get one on the {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{q-Spades} flop, he did pick up the better flush draw.

The {5-Clubs} turn was a blank, and so was the {2-Clubs} river. Troyanovskiy missed and had to recourse but to head to the payout desk.

Ivan Luca Joins the Rail

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ivan Luca
Ivan Luca

Christian Rudolph opened with a raise to 11,000 from early position. Action folded around where Ivan Luca moved all in from late position for 60,500 total. Back on Rudolph who thought for a while before calling.

Rudolph: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Luca: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Luca was in a dominating position, but the flop came down {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} which put changed things, putting Luca in a deep hole. He couldn't recover on the {3-Spades} turn or the {4-Diamonds} river and that sent Luca in the rail. Rudolph took down the pot and moved to nearly 250,000 in the process.

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Professional poker player Barry Greenstein has 10 big blinds on the bubble of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event 2018. He is surviving, but wants to accumulate a bigger stack and stay in long enough for a minimum cash. If he makes it into the money, he will take home at least $17K. Should he fold into the money? Or shove and try to build a stack? Barry Greenstein isn’t always playing Texas Hold “Em. He much prefers mixed games including Stud, Pot Limit Omaha, Limit.
