Hwang Adds More Chips with a Knockout

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A short stack had been at risk and was looked up by two opponents including Jungmin Hwang. His {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} made the best hand on a {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} runout as it beat {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and the cards of the at-risk player were already mucked while they headed out of the Grand Hall.

Hwang's stack earned a small boost and he jumped to two times the average with 182 players out of 365 entries remaining.

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Hung Richard Nguyen

The cards were already revealed on a board of {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} on which Kyeongrim Shin had been all-in with the {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a turned top pair. However, he had zero equity by then as Hung Richard Nguyen held the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for an unbeatable set of eights to deal the final blow.

Chu No More After Doan Flops the Nuts

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Thinh Thai Chu was all-in for the last 9,000 and table big stack Tuan Minh Doan called from the very next seat. Chu's {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} were ahead of {9-Spades}{8-Spades} preflop but that all changed on the {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop. The {8-Clubs} turn brought some potential split outs but the {7-Spades} river was no miracle for Chu.

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jung Among the Latest to Bow Out

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Seung Mook Jung was all-in for some seven blinds and he was looked up by table neighbour Emmanuel Segismundo. The South Korean held the {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Segismundo chopped with {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

"Gamble?" Jung asked his opponent with a grin and then thanked him as a third player had likely folded the potentially winning hand. However, only two minutes later the South Korean was knocked out so the good deed only lasted a short while.

Van Pulls Back Some Chips

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With some 25,000 in the middle to the {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{k-Spades} river, Hien Van Dang bet 22,000 with around as much behind. Table big stack Dinh Tien Van pushed all-in with the superior stack and Dang reluctantly folded.

Van recovered some chips that he had previously lost and remains among the biggest stacks in the room.

Kulnattee Kunatharakul

Thai player Kulnattee Kunatharakul bet 5,000 on a heads-up river of {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and his sole remaining opponent went into the tank. He then flicked in the single yellow T-5,000 chip but couldn't beat the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of Kunatharakul.

Nam Hoang Nguyen

Three ways to a flop of {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Nam Hoang Nguyen bet 1,000 and was called only by Chi Chung Ho in the hijack. The {j-Diamonds} followed on the turn and Nguyen bet another 2,000 to win the pot uncontested.

Phua Binks the Perfect Turn

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Tzai Wei Phua
Tzai Wei Phua

On a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, it checked to Tzai Wei Phua and he bet 3,000 with a shorter stack behind. Thanh Tien Dinh jammed all-in and Phua snap-called for the rest of it.

Tzai Wei Phua: {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Thanh Tien Dinh: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The {j-Spades} turn gave Phua the nuts and the {4-Hearts} river was not significant anymore.
