Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Valeriy Pak
Valeriy Pak

Having defended against a raise by Richard Sheils, Valeriy Pak then opted to ham a flop of 1053 and tabled the K10 for top pair and decent kicker in showdown. However, he had some catching up to do as Sheils was out in front with the QQ.

Nothing changed with the J turn and 5 river to knock out Pak.

Shortly after, Xiyu Xie was eliminated by Anton Del Rosario as yet another hopeful ran out of chips.

Erquiaga Gets Thin Value Off Saquing

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action on the Q532 turn, Moses Saquing checked out of the big blind. David Erquiaga made it 10,000 to go only for Saquing to min-raise to 20,000, which Erquiaga called.

The 9 river was checked by Saquing and Erquiaga now bet just 6,000 with a grin on the face. Saquing could all but sigh and then paid it off to muck versus Q8.

Also featured on the same table is another well-known Filipino poker pro in Florencio Campomanes.

Ding Done For the Day in Flight 1b

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There had been a carnage of sorts on table one as three seats needed to be filled after recent eliminations.

Several players there hold decent stack sizes and among them is also Ricardo Torres, who just scored another knockout.

Yoong Piu Ding put his hopes on the 55 and Torres flipped it in with the AJ. The overcards struck right away on the J9794 runout to send yet another player to the rail.

Recent Eliminations

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Floor staff officially confirmed 265 entries for Day 1b, which means the goal for all those with chips at their disposal is making the top 40 spots for tonight. The field has already been whittled down to 130 contenders but a long night remains ahead to reach the bubble in this flight.

All players below won't be among the survivors as they all bowed out and can take their chances in the turbo heat 1c.

Following an open raise to 4,000, four players called including Tom Dwan on the button and Wonwook Jung in the big blind. The AA6 flop was checked to Dwan and he bet 3,500. Only Jung and the initial raiser called, leading them to the J turn.

Once more, it checked around to Dwan and he bet 11,000. Jung check-raised to 31,000 and forced out the third player, he then called all-in when Dwan moved all-in.

Wonwook Jung: A3

A split pot was very likely and confirmed after the 6 river brought no upset.

Beng Key Teoh
Beng Key Teoh

Down to the last 26,500, Beng Key Teoh was all-in with the AQ. Day 1a bubble boy Yuan Xiang Cheong looked him up with the superior stack and KJ. The 1043 flop changed nothing just yet while the Q turn gave Teoh the top pair and Cheong an open-ended straight draw to go with a flush draw.

Sure enough, the 10 hit on the river and Cheong immediately apologised for the suckout.
