In a five-way limped pot, Chen Ming Kong bet 70,000 and was called by Eng Siang Ewe as well as Paul Phua. The A turn was checked and Ewe also checked the 6 river. Phua now bet 130,000 and Kong reluctantly called while Ewe folded.

Phua exposed the AJ and won the pot against the K10 of Kong.

Teoh Eliminated by Yap to Reach Unofficial Final Table

Level 12 : Blinds 0/0, 15,000 ante

The recent loss of hands saw the stack of William Teoh plummet and he had just some 25 antes at his disposal when the chips went into the middle. However, Teoh had the best of it when he was looked up by Jun Wah Yap.

William Teoh: AA
Jun Wah Yap: AK

The aces were ahead on the QJ7 flop and J turn but Teoh had plenty of outs to dodge with tens and diamonds all representing a threat. It was then the 10 river which ended his run just shy of the unofficial final table and finish inside the money.

Phua Doubles Through Tang

Level 12 : Blinds 0/0, 15,000 ante

It folded all the way to Danny Tang in the cutoff and he pushed all-in with the superior stack. Paul Phua had been moved into the next seat and he bemoaned that his time bank extensions were still in the old seat. Once he was handed them, Phua only needed one before he called all-in.

Paul Phua: A9
Danny Tang: A7

"Split pot?!" Tang inquired but improved until the J667 turn. Phua had outs and the 8 river was among them as he improved to a straight, securing the double for 662,000.

Tang Ahead of Teoh; Yu Paces Further Away

Level 11 : Blinds 0/0, 12,000 ante

Danny Tang check-called a bet of 110,000 by Ming Hong Teoh with the turn showing AA67. He then checked again the 6 river and Teoh bet another 310,000. Tang mentioned he would have happily called on a different river card but only did so reluctantly now.

Teoh revealed the AJ for a full house and Tang won the pot with J10 for a flush.

Over on the other table, William Teoh also suffered another setback when taking on Winfred Yu yet again. Yu check-called for 200,000 on the Q10910 turn and Teoh checked back the 7 river. Yu turned over his AA and Teoh just shook his head before he folded.

Yu Extends Lead With Big Call Against Teoh

Level 11 : Blinds 0/0, 12,000 ante

On the unofficial final table bubble, Winfred Yu checked the Q968Q river and faced a bet of 280,000 by William Teoh. That sent Yu into the tank as a small crowd gathered around their table. Ultimately, Yu invested two time banks and made the call.

Teoh revealed the K10 for a missed straight and flush draw. That was beaten by the JJ of Yu, as several players gasped an "woahhhh" from the rail.

In a three-way limped pot to the Q106 flop, no betting action took place. It was then Danny Tang who bet the J turn for 50,000 in the hijack. Chen Ming Kong called in the cutoff and Hing Yaung Chow jammed for around 360,000 total.

Tang folded and Kong snap-called. "Do you have it?" Chow may have asked in their native language as Kong instantly nodded and flashed his A7 for the nut flush.

"Drawing dead," Chow giggled as he exposed the J6 and already pushed over his stack even before the K river officially ended his tournament.

Yu Leaves Ewe Among Shorter Stacks

Level 11 : Blinds 0/0, 12,000 ante

Winfred Yu limped in and then called a raise to 110,000 by Eng Siang Ewe, which led them to the AQJ flop. Yu checked to Ewe, who repeated his bet of 110,000. This time, Yu check-raised to more than 800,000 and that had Ewe's remaining stack covered.

One time bank later, Ewe opted to fold while Yu continued his domination late on Day 1.

Three ways limped to the AQ8 flop, Winfred Yu bet 60,000 in the cutoff. Eng Siang Ewe called from under the gun and Paul Phua folded.

Ewe check-called for 150,000 on the K turn to then check in the dark ahead of the 7 river. Yu bet another 210,000 and Ewe tanked for nearly the entire shot clock before he called.

Yu tabled the 88 for a set of eights and jumped into the top spot.
