Danny Tang had limp and raise-folded to the aggression of Chen Ming Kong and they then got involved in a pot in cutoff versus button. Both invested 30,000 on the 9♥8♣6♥7♠ turn for Tang to bet the 10♣ river for 120,000. Yong folded and the pot was pushed to Tang.
In a four-way limped pot to the A♣10♦6♣ flop, no betting action occurred and Winfred Yu as well as William Teoh check-folded thereafter when the 6♦ followed on the turn. Eng Siang Ewe check-called for 60,000 when Paul Phua as last to act on the button bet.
Ewe checked again the K♠ river and Phua now bet 180,000. A very reluctant call by Ewe followed and his A♥8♥ was good, as Phua had bluffed with the Q♥7♣.
On a heads-up flop of 10♠8♦7♥, Jun Wah Yap raised to 160,000 on the button and William Teoh called, which led them to the K♠ turn. Teoh bet another 170,000 only for Yap to then move all-in with the inferior stack. The shove was for another 728,000 total and Teoh asked for an exact count, used a time bank to then fold right into the final 15-minute break of the day.
Another two 40-minute levels are to be played or until the final six players are reached, whichever comes first.
Danny Tang forfeited a raise to 60,000 when Chen Ming Kong moved all-in as he showed an ace-jack. Soon after that, Tang won those chips back when he successfully took down a heads-up pot by betting the A♠Q♥9♠ flop.
Ming Hong Teoh is still the run-away chip leader on the same table, however, while Tang sits on a very comfortable stack.
Only nine players remain in contention with more than two full levels to be played for tonight. The top six spots are paid and Wai Kin Yong doesn't have a shot at prize money anymore after he bowed out against Chen Ming Kong.
Short-stacked with some ten antes, Yong jammed and Kong called with the superior pocket pair.
Wai Kin Yong: 9♣9♦
Chen Ming Kong: Q♣Q♥
The A♣10♠8♥ flop and 8♠ turn kept the bigger-stacked Kong ahead, the J♠ river didn't change that either.
Paul Teoh jammed his short stack in with the A♠J♦ and Eng Siang Ewe looked him up with the Q♥Q♠ form the next seat.
The board ran out K♦K♥9♥9♦6♦ and the queens held as the field was brought down to the last 13 contenders.
Danny Tang then jammed over the top of a raise by Paul Phua and engaged in friendly table banter, seemingly asking for a fold. He was called and the cards were revealed.
Danny Tang: A♣8♥
Paul Phua: K♣Q♣
The A♥Q♥6♥6♦9♥ board delivered a double-up to Tang.
Moments later the floor staff announced for the action to stop as another player was eliminated. That happened to be Ghai Pang Yap, who got it in with ten-nine for top two pair on 10♦9♠6♠. Winfred Yu looked him up with the K♠8♠ for a gutshot and flush draw, which missed the J♣ turn but hit on the A♠ river.
