Upon completion of level eight, only 16 players out of 39 entries are remaining. There is a very minor overlay right now and those wishing to jump in have 15 minutes left during the second level of the day.
Lun Loon doubles through Wei Hsiang Yeu for 69,000 when A♠Q♣ prevailed versus 10♦9♥ on a board of A♦K♥10♣Q♥K♠.
Yeu scored a double for himself for 324,000 when he got it in with the A♥9♥. Jun Wah Yap had him out-chipped and was ahead with the K♦K♥. That remained to be the case on the J♣7♥6♠ flop but Yeu had a gutshot. The J♥ turn added a flush draw and Yeu hit the 8♥ river.
At the same time, Danny Tang was deep in the tank in big pot with big stack Ming Hong Teoh, who jammed the 10♣9♠8♥K♣A♠ river. Tang used five of his six time bank extensions and then sigh-folded.

Lun Loon open-jammed for 306,000 and then saw Wei Hsiang Yeu also move all-in. Paul Phua contemplated to make it a three-way all-in from the hijack, which he indeed did after a few seconds. Both players behind folded and the cards were revealed.

Lun Loon: A♠Q♣
Wei Hsiang Yeu: A♥Q♦
Yong had put both players on ace-king but was equally happy to see identical hands, too. The A♦9♦6♣ flop gave Yong a gutshot straight flush draw, which didn't get there on the 6♥ turn just yet. However, the 7♣ river completed the straight and he tripled for 287,000.
Loon was left very short and tripled in the very next hand versus Yeu and Jun Wah Yap.
Lun Loon: 6♥6♦
Wei Hsiang Yeu: K♣10♦
Jun Wah Yap: Q♠Q♥
The best hand ended up worst on the J♠9♦7♣K♠6♠ board as Loon tripled with a two-outer and Yeu doubled for 118,000 against Yap.

Having redeemed the bullets behind, Rene van Krevelen then raised and called the shove by Eng Soon Ewe for what appeared to be 189,000.
Eng Soon Ewe: 7♥7♦
Rene van Krevelen: 10♥10♠
The dominated pair never gained any help on the K♣Q♠9♦K♦10♣ board and one Ewe departed.
At the same time, Eng Siang Ewe was all-in for 188,000 on a completed board of 9♦8♦7♣A♠Q♣. His opponent asked for a count but folded.
Lun Loon then re-entered which brought the field up to 39 entries with 18 players still in contention.

Wei Hsiang Yeu was all-in for 80,000 and looked up by Wei Zhen Ng. The former tabled the A♥10♥ while Ng revealed an inferior K♥10♠.
On a board of Q♠10♣8♦8♣6♥, the kicker played and Yeu doubled. Ng was left with some five and a half antes, which he lost to Yeu right after to reload.

As has been the case in most Short Deck high-stakes competitions since it became popular on the live poker circuit, the final stages typically include numerous all-in showdowns in very rapid succession.
The same happened in the last couple of minutes as Ming Hong Teoh and William Teoh were bumped near the top of the leaderboard.
Rene van Krevelen had lost a massive pot and then jammed a shorter stack for Wai Kin Yong in the cutoff as well as Ivan Ermin on the button to call all-in.
Ivan Ermin: 9♥8♥
Wai Kin Yong: A♠K♥
Rene van Krevelen: J♥10♦
Yong hit a full house on the K♠Q♦J♣K♦A♥ board, as he tripled up. Ermin had one bullet left and redeemed it to bust soon after.
Richard Yong then lost his bullets and re-entered, too, while Eng Siang Ewe doubled.

Facing the all-ins of Jun Wah Yap and Wei Hsiang Yeu, the latter of which was on the cutoff, Nobuaki Sasaki on the button had a decision to make. He took two time bank extensions and vividly motioned that he thought about taking a gamble for a triple up or not. The decision was to call it off eventually as a small crowd gathered around the table.
Nobuaki Sasaki: 9♣8♣
Wei Hsiang Yeu: J♦J♣
Jun Wah Yap: Q♦Q♠
Yap had the best of it and he earned the pot thanks to a A♠Q♣9♦6♣6♠ board, as Sasaki missed out on a gutshot and flush draw.
Also featured on the table are now Ghai Pang Yap as well as Wei Zheng Ng, who both recently entered.
