Chow and Van Krevelen Add Chips

Level 6 : Blinds 0/0, 4,000 ante
Rene van Krevelen
Rene van Krevelen

Ivan Ermin open-jammed a shorter stack with the 98 and was looked up by Rene van Krevelen with the A10.

The AA10 flop left Ermin drawing dead as the J turn and 8 river were no longer significant.

Moments later, another short stack got it in with the J9 and Hing Yaung Chow happily called with the A10. The suited ace made broadway on the AJ7QK runout as yet another bullet had to be redeemed.

Eng Soon Ewe

Eng Soon Ewe raised to 8,000 and Winfred Yu made it 37,000 to go from one seat over. Wai Kiat Lee in the cutoff and Danny Tang on the button called after which Ewe moved all-in for 55,000. Yu then reraised big and forced out both players behind.

Eng Soon Ewe: AK
Winfred Yu: AK

The K10769 board brought no shenanigans as they chopped the pot, allowing Ewe to chip up.

Dinner Break on Day 1

Level 5 : Blinds 0/0, 3,000 ante

With some late entrants just before the end of level five, the field was bumped to 25 entries of which 17 players remain. They have gone on a 60-minute dinner break and another seven levels are to be played for today.

The late registration remains open for the next three levels and following break.

Chow and Sasaki on the Rise

Level 5 : Blinds 0/0, 3,000 ante
Hing Yaung Chow

One of the White Horse Club members was among the chip leaders for the last three levels but they just crashed out after their stack was first reduced to fumes, they then doubled only to lose it all right after.

Hing Yaung Chow benefited the most when he doubled for 213,000 in a three-way all-in that also saw Wei Hsiang Yeu at risk.

Wei Hsiang Yeu: K7
Hing Yaung Chow: AQ
Cutoff: J10

The QJJ108 runout gave Chow a flush to score a big pot. He lost some of that to the White Horse Club member before Nobuaki Sasaki scored the final blow moments later.

The Action Increases Before Dinner

Level 5 : Blinds 0/0, 3,000 ante

Eng Siang Ewe and Nobuaki Sasaki both entered, the latter of which used his second entry thus far.

Ewe almost immediately doubled one of his bullets when the A10 made the best hand on the 109799 board.

One table over, Lun Loon saw his stack cut down to half a bullet after the latest clash.

Ermin Eliminated; Yu Scoops Large Pot to Take Lead

Level 5 : Blinds 0/0, 3,000 ante
Winfred Yu

Soon after redeeming the third and final bullet, Ivan Ermin was all-in once more. This time, two players went to war as Winfred Yu and Wei Hsiang Yeu also got in their bigger stacks to create a pot of nearly seven figures.

Ivan Ermin: AK
Winfred Yu: JJ
Wei Hsiang Yeu: KK

The J97 flop improved Yu to a set and the 9 turn made that a full house. Ermin was alive with his flush draw while Yeu had a single out to avoid a major blow. Nothing changed with the 9 river and Yu doubled through Yeu for 397,000 in the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

"All limped and there was a short stack," Yu mentioned when referring to what had just happened.

Last Bullet for Ermin on First Entry

Level 5 : Blinds 0/0, 3,000 ante

Ivan Ermin got it in with a suited combo before the flop out of the hijack and the only player to look him up was Wei Hsiang Yeu on the button.

Ivan Ermin: K10
Wei Hsiang Yeu: AA

Ermin gained some equity with the 1087 flop but failed to connect with the J turn, the 8 river was of no help either. That forced Ermin to use his third and final bullet on the first entry.
