Ewe Takes From Ogura; Loses a Lot More After

Takashi Ogura opened to 300,000 holding the A♠8♦ and Eng Soon Ewe came along with the 10♠9♥. With top pair on the 9♣3♣2♥ flop, Ewe check-called for 260,000 and led the 4♥ turn for 400,000, Ogura called.

Ewe bet another 1,200,000 on the 10♥ and Ogura folded.

Min-raised three- way action to the 10♥6♣2♥ flop saw Soon then check-call for 400,000 with the 9♠7♣ for a gutshot, as Ogura bet his 9♥8♦ for a different gutshot. Gary Thompson got out of the way and the 7♥ turn improved Ogura. Ewe opted to check-call for 1,100,000 and checked the 9♦ river once more.

Ogura checked it back and won the pot with his straight.
