Big Pot for Feng

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Day 1C of the Poker King Cup Macau is now up to 175 entries, 171 of whom remain though we have not seen any of the bust outs. Our timing appears to be a little off today and we are arriving midway through all the big hands we have seen so far, with this next one being no exception.

We caught the action on the river in a big hand between Hong Kong’s Edward Ho and China’s Houju Feng that looked like a battle of the blinds. With the board reading {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {q-Hearts} and over 17,800 in the pot Ho had led out for 12,000 and Feng had a decision to make.

The Chinese player tanked long and hard, as with just 17,075 left behind, should he call and lose Feng would be down to just 5,000 in chips. However, the fact that there is re-entry means he can always fire a second bullet and he did choose to make the call.

Ho turned over {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for bottom pair and a missed diamond draw and Feng had {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} for top pair, which was enough to win the hand.

Ho raised from the button the very next hand with small blind Feng and the big blind making the call to take the action three-way to a flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Spades}, which was checked by all three players.

Feng opened for 800 on the {4-Clubs} turn and that was enough to get the big blind and Ho to fold out and the Chinese player makes it two from two.
