There were three back-to-back massive hands before the break that saw lots of chips change hands. Danny Tang endured a nasty blind versus blind cooler against Sahashi Hideki that saw all the chips go in. Tang held but unfortunately for the Hong Kong player, Hideki had and Tang dropped down to 550,000.
Then Eugene Co earned a full double from Zhao Yanchao. Co was the initial aggressor with and Yanchao called in position with . The flop saw Co check call a 100,000 Yanchao bet and the hit the turn.
Co check-called again, with Yanchao betting 200,000 this time. The river saw Co make the nut flush and open ship and Yanchao beat him into the pot, only to discover the bad news. Co climbed to 2.1 million.
Then Yanchao and Sahahsi Hideki tangled with all the chips finding their way into the middle once again. It was Yanchao the man to shove first with and the Japanese player looked him up with .
Yanchao hit two pair on the flop and the turn and river saw the Chinese player climb to 800,000 while Hideki dropped down to 2.58 million.

Zhao Yanchao has been involved in two out of the three last big pots we have seen and the trend continued after the break. Unfortunately for Yanchao however, it would be the last pot he played.
Action folded around to Yanchao in the small blind and he moved all-in for close to 800,000 and Kosei Ichinose made a quick call – generally not a good sign if you have just shoved.
Zhao Yanchao:
Kosei Ichinose:
While Yanchao caught a piece of the flop Ichinose had plenty of redraws and while the turn was not one of his outs, the river was and the field is down to 12, with Yanchao collecting HK$94,400 for his 13th place finish while Ichinose stack up to 2 million.

Danny Tang got the last of his chips in over the top of a Jeffrey Lo open and managed to catch a much-needed double. Lo had and was trailing to Tang’s .
Both players missed the runout by miles, meaning Tang’s king-high was good for a pot of over 1 million in chips.

Two of the shorter stacks, Taiwan’s Chen An Lin and Hong Kong’s Sparrow Cheung have just doubled up. It was An Lin who doubled first, courtesy of Je Ho Lee, who moved all-in from the button with to put the pressure on the Taiwanese player. It was the right move at the wrong time however, as An Lin had woken up with and made a quick call. The run out saw An Lin double to 1.6 million while Lee dropped to 1.6 million.
The Eugene Co put Sparrow Cheung to the test and moved all-in from the button with and the Hong Kong player made the call for his tournament life with .
Co maintained his lead on the flop, but the turn brought something for everyone – a king to give Sparrow the lead and a heart to give Co a re-draw. The river saw Co miss and Cheung double to 1.7 million.

The field is now down to ten and the clock has been paused briefly while players relocate to the unofficial final table. But how did that happen? Well, we’re glad you asked.
It was Yuefeng Pan who was the initial aggressor, making it 100,000 to go from late-position and Lim Chin Wei re-raised to 300,000 from the blinds, Pan made the call and the action went heads-up to a flop, which Wei led for 225,000.
Pan jammed for 900,000 and Wei called immediately. Pan turned over but was trailing to Wei’s and did not improve and departed in 11th place for an HK$94,400 payday. Wei now has 5 million.

Unfortunately for Jeffery Lo he has become the latest casualty. The Hong Kong player took an unlucky hit at the hands of Eugene Co just seconds before the elimination of Yuefeng Pan.
Lo, holding , and Co, holding had got all the chips in on a flop of and while Lo held the lead and remained in front on the turn, disaster struck on the river with Co making a full house. The Filipino climbed to around 2 million after the hand while Lo was left with around 750,000.
After the move to the final table, Lo was one of the shorter stacks and got the last of his chips in pre-flop with and was looked up by Lim Chin Wei with .
The board ran out to bring Lo’s tournament to a close and the final table down to nine. One more bust out and play stops for the day.
