Sontheimer Shoves on Hellmuth

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With 96,000 in the pot and a board reading {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, Steffen Sontheimer bet 85,000 from the big blind holding the {7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and his nemesis, Phil Hellmuth, quickly called from the button.

When the {2-Hearts} appeared on the river, Sontheimer used a time extension before moving all in for 169,000. Hellmuth, who barely had him covered, hit the tank and burned through two time extensions before folding his hand.

Short-Stacked Scott Seiver Succumbs

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Action folded around to Brian Rast in the small blind and he simply moved all in to put the pressure on Scott Seiver, who was short stacked in the big blind. Seiver looked down at his cards and quickly called off for 67,500.

Seiver: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Rast: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

It was a race and Seiver was looking to hold to double. That didn't happen though as the {j-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop paired Rast. The {K-Spades} turn left Seiver looking for a seven on the river, but it wasn't in the cards as the {6-Clubs} bricked instead.

Christner Risks It All

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

The action folded to Christian Christner in the small blind who raised to 12,000. Stefan Schillhabel called from the big blind and the flop came {k-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

Christner led out for 10,000 and Schillhabel stuck around to see the {3-Diamonds} on the turn. Christner continued for another 22,000 and Schillhabel still called.

The {j-Hearts} completed the board and Christner announced all in for around 45,000. Schillhabel didn't have to think for very long before tossing his cards away and sending the pot towards Christner.

Chidwick Climbs Back to Starting Stack

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 9,000 from the cutoff and was called by both Ben Tollerene and Christian Christner in the blinds. The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} and Tollerene led out for 12,000. Christner called and Chidwick raised to 35,000. Tollerene got out of the way but Christner stuck around to see the turn.

Both players checked on the {4-Hearts} turn card and the {9-Diamonds} hit the river. Christner checked one more time and Chidwick pushed all-in. Christner quickly tossed his cards away and Chidwick climbed back to his initial starting stack.

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel raised to 10,000 from the hijack and Matt Hyman flatted from the cutoff. The rest of the players folded and the two of them saw a flop of {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

Seidel continued for 14,000 and Hyman called to see the {2-Hearts} turn. Seidel checked, Hyman bet 27,000, and Seidel woke up with a check-raise to 85,000. Hyman hit the tank and burned up two time extensions before releasing his hand.

We Three Kings!

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Fedor Holz raised to 9,000 from the hijack and Erik Seidel re-raised to 42,000 out of the big blind. Holz made the call and the flop came {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

Both players checked to the {3-Hearts} on the turn and Seidel led out for 45,000. Holz stuck around to see the {k-Hearts} fall on the river. Seidel checked this time and Holz fired 50,000 into the middle as his time bank was about to expire. Seidel instantly called and Holz tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for trip kings. Seidel nodded and let out a deep breath before pushing his cards forward face down.

Rast's Call Sends Hellmuth Into a Tirade

Level 9 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a hand from last level that just aired on the live stream, Brian Rast raised the button to 10,000 with the {5-Spades}{3-Spades} and Phil Hellmuth three-bet to 34,000 from the big blind with the {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Rast called and then both players checked the {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop. Hellmuth then bet 45,000 on the {9-Diamonds} turn and Rast called.

When the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river Hellmuth bluffed at it one more time by betting 66,000, which left him just 40,000 back. Rast hit the tank and used two time extension before picking it off and sending Hellmuth into one of his trademark rants.
