Germans Battle It Out

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In the first hand of the new level, Stefan Schillhabel raised to 23,000 preflop from early position holding the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Christian Christner called from the big blind with the {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

Christner check-called a bet of 21,000 on the {5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop and then checked the {2-Diamonds} turn. Schillhabel bet 72,000, Christner called, and the {A-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Christner checked his two pair and Schillhabel gave up on the hand by checking behind.

First Blood to Stephen Chidwick

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In the first hand of the nine-handed table, Stephen Chidwick raised to 18,000 holding the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Brian Rast called from the small blind with the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Rast then led out for 25,000 on the {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop and Chidwick called with his flush draw, which he hit on the {2-Clubs} turn. Rast check-called a bet of 65,000 and then checked the {K-Diamonds} river.

Rast checked for a second time and Chidwick bet 350,000. Rast used two time extensions before making the call.

With that, Chidwick, who has been short much of today, moved into second chip position while Rast fell to the second-shortest stack.

Ben Tollerene Eliminated in 10th Place

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ben Tollerene
Ben Tollerene

Stefan Schillhabel raised to 24,000 on the button with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Ben Tollerene made a three-bet to 75,000 out of the small blind with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Schillhabel made the call and the two players saw a flop of {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Tollerene led out for 50,000 and Schillhabel just called with his top pair and a flush draw. The turn was the {9-Hearts} improving Schillhabel's hand to two pair. Tollerene checked and Schillhabel bet 175,000 which was enough to cover Tollerene's stack. Tollerene made the call and the cards were tabled.

Tollerene would need to catch a queen or jack that wasn't a club but the {k-Diamonds} peeled off on the river and Tollerene's hopes at The Poker Masters Purple Jacket came to an end.

Davies Turns His Hand to a Bluff

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Seth Davies raised to 22,000 on the button with {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and was called by Stefan Schillhabel in the small blind with {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Ben Tollerene in the big blind with {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

The flop came {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the action was checked around to the {j-Clubs} on the turn. Schillhabel led out for 45,000 with his broadway draw and Davies called with a pair of jacks.

The river landed the {k-Diamonds} giving Schillhabel the best hand and he went for a 41,000 value bet. Davies turned his hand into a bluff and raised to 220,000. Schillhabel used one of his time extensions but ended up folding the best hand.

Flush for Rast, Straight for Bonomo

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Justin Bonomo opened the button to 16,000 and Brian Rast called in the big blind as the flop landed {5-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Rast checked.

Bonomo bet out 32,000 and Rast called before checking the {J-Diamonds} on the turn. Bonomo fired out again; this time for 70,000, and Rast made the call as the river landed the {7-Hearts}.

Rast checked and Bonomo pushed out a stack of 25,000-denomination chips amounting to a bet of 500,000.

Rast called for his final 242,000 and tabled his {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a flush as Bonomo revealed his {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a Broadway straight. Rast is now sitting on 732,000 as Bonomo dropped to 450,000 in chips.

The Rich Get Richer

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ben Tollerene opened with a raise to 19,000 on the button with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and was called by Steffen Sontheimer in the big blind with {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Sontheimer check-called a bet of 16,000 from Tollerene. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {a-Diamonds} that hit the river.

Sontheimer picked up the best hand and decided to bet 57,000. With two overcards to Tollerene's pocket pair, he elected to fold and Sontheimer raked in another pot.

Bonomo Takes It on the River

Level 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Fedor Holz raised to 19,000 from the button and Justin Bonomo called from the small blind. Jake Schindler came along from the big and three players took a flop of {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, which they all checked.

After the dealer burned and turned the {5-Spades}, Bonomo checked and Schindler bet 40,000. Holz called, and then Bonomo check-raised to 125,000, which scared off Schindler. Holz called and the {9-Diamonds} completed the board on the river.

Bonomo bet 225,000 and that did the trick as Holz folded after 30 seconds.
