Cary Katz Eliminated in 8th Place ($50,000)

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Jason Koon opened to 40,000 on the button and Daniel Negreanu shoved the small blind for 410,000. Cary Katz called all in from the big blind for 165,000, and Koon folded.

Negreanu: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Katz: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The dealer spread a {K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop to give Katz a huge lead with his top pair and flush draw.

The {Q-Spades} on the turn would now see Negreanu climb from one out to four, and when the {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, he sent Katz to the rail in 8th place for a $50,000 payday.

Adams Over Jaffee in Three-Bet Pot

Level 15 : 8,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Brandon Adams raised to 40,000 on the button and called 130,000 from Jared Jaffee in the small blind. On the {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop, Jaffee continuation-bet 100,000 and Adams quickly called. On the {9-Diamonds} turn, Jaffee slowed down with a check. Adams didn't waste much time before sliding in 300,000, and Jaffee released.
