Players' Party and Side Events

The Pokercode Festival is all about connecting with its active community. In many cases, Pokercode coaches and players are meeting for the first time in real life.

Last night featured a Pub Quiz with at least 50 players in attendance. Tonight the Pokercode community can let it all hang out with the Pokercode Players' Party kicking off at 8 p.m.

Also, today will feature two side events with the €220 Bounty King kicking off at 2 p.m. CEST and the €5,000 High Roller beginning at 4 p.m. The High Roller will be live-streamed and embedded in our coverage.

Huge Bad Beat for Scisel at the End of Level 12

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Kate Scisel
Kate Scisel

Navid Eskandari limped early position and another player limped behind before Kate Scisel raised to 12,000 from the big blind. Eskandfari three-bet jammed for 98,000 and Scisel snap-called after the other player in the hand folded.

Navid Eskandari: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Kate Scisel: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

The {5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts} board gave Eskandari a flush and Scisel was in complete disbelief.

She immediately got up and ran for the cashier to re-enter only to be called back with crumbs still in her stack. Scisel confirmed with the tournament director that she could surrender her stack and she got back into the action with 50,000 in chips to start Level 13.

Kate Scisel: {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Vladimir Bednar: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Holz on Crumbs

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Fedor Holz jammed for 33,500 from the cutoff before Darren Chandler called off for 23,500 from the big blind.

Darren Chandler: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Fedor Holz: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

"Good game," said Holz after he got nowhere on the {8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Spades} runout.

Holz stayed in his seat after he was informed that Chandler didn't have him covered.

Meanwhile, Alexander Baier has won a bunch of pots without a showdown to grow his stack.

Chang Outs Holz

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Pavel Chalupka opened for 12,000 from early position. Fedor Holz called off his stack of 10,000 chips from the lojack. Navid Eskandari called from the cutoff and Carlos Chang did the same from the big blind.

The {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop was checked around before two players checked the {k-Diamonds} turn. Eskandari bet 15,000. Chang called and Chalupka folded.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Chang jammed for more than 80,000 and Eskandari called.

Chang instantly turned over {a-Spades}{3-Spades} for a wheel. Both Eskandari with {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Holz with {k-Spades}{8-Spades} couldn't believe the runout as they both lost the hand despite hitting two pair. For Holz, it was the end of the line, while Eskandari still had a chance to run it up with a few chips in his stack.

Felix Weis

Daniel Riemer: {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Carlos Chang: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Felix Weis: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Weis ousted both Riemer and Chang in the same hand after his cowboys held on the {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board.
