The inaugural €125,000 guaranteed Pokercode Main Event has reached a final table of nine players with Alexander Baier heading into the final day with the chip lead.

Baier is an active member of the Pokercode community and held the lead throughout most of Day 2. He already had a small chip lead when he won a massive pot where he nailed a full house with tens full to eliminate Sebastian Schulze with a full house with eights with another player also in the hand.

Meanwhile, Leonard Hermann, Maximilian Silz, and Tim Van Loo also bagged above-average stacks with Konstantin Hammermueller, Filip Jurga, Isuf Hoxha, Fabian Bernhauser, and Day 1a chip leader Vladimir Bednar also still in contention for the title.

Action of the Day

The Day began with 233 entries and 71 survivors. The field grew by 20 entries to 253 entries by the time late registration closed after the conclusion of the first blind level of the day.

Players were hitting the rail at a fast and furious pace until the bubble was reached. Steffen Sontheimer was short on chips and managed two doubles on the bubble broke when Raffael Crose couldn't get there with ace-ten against Van Loo's ace-queen.

Although Sontheimer continued to roll after the money bubble broke, he did suffer a different bubble as he was the final player eliminated on Day 2 in 10th place for €2,295.

Maximilian Silz jammed from the button. Steffen Sontheimer called off his stack of about 400,000 before Vladimir Bednar tank-folded.

Steffen Sontheimer: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Maximilian Silz: {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Sontheimer was ahead on the flip after the {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop but fell way behind after Silz paired up on the {q-Hearts} turn. Sontheimer was ousted on the final table bubble in 10th place for €2,295 after the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Players are bagging up their chips for tomorrow's final table which will kick off on Sunday at 12 p.m. with Alexander Baier as the table captain. Stay tuned at PokerNews for the final table seat draw along with a recap of Day 2 of the Pokercode Bratislava Main Event.

Fehim Hajdari

Fehim Hajdari jammed the button for a little more than 200,000. Isuf Hoxha had a little more from the big blind and made the call.

Fehim Hadjari: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Isuf Hoxha: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}

It was looking like a great spot for Hadjari, especially after Hoxha got nowhere on the {10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop. However, Hoxha's ace found a friend on the {a-Spades} turn and he eliminated Hadjari in 11th place after the {2-Clubs} completed the board.

Fehim Hajdari open-jammed from the small blind and Fabian Bernhauser called off his stack of 300,000 from the big blind.

Fabian Bernhauser: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Fehim Hajdari: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Hajdari took a big lead in the hand after his queen paired the {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. The {j-Diamonds} turn gave Bernhauser both an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw.

The flush draw completed for Bernhauser to double his stack after the {10-Diamonds} river completed the board.

Frank Hanisch Eliminated in 12th Place (€2,295)

Frank Hanisch

Frank Hanisch jammed from early position and was called by Konstantin Hammermueller from the button.

Frank Hanisch: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Konstantin Hammermueller: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop gave Hanisch top pair but despite this Hammermueller was far ahead with a set. The {9-Clubs} turn and {10-Clubs} river improved Hammermueller further to a full house and Hanisch hit the showers short of the final table.
