Chips Changing Hands

Under the gun, Daniel Neilson came in with a raise to 5,000. Action passed to James "Andy McLEOD" Obst in the small blind, and he reraised to 22,300. Neilson moved all in, and Obst called.

Showdown:
Obst: {A-Hearts} {10-Diamonds}
Neilson: {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}

With a pot of 58,000 chips up for grabs, the dealer ran out the board: {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Spades}. Obst failed to improve, and he doubled up Daniel Neilson. After the dust settled, Obst was down to 15,000 while Neilson climbed close to 60,000.

This Ain't Connect 4

David Saab - Eliminated
David Saab - Eliminated
David Saab moved all in preflop holding {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, but he ran into trouble as Bruno Portaro found {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}.

The door card was the {Q-Spades}, giving Saab a slight glimmer of hope, but the rest of the community cards were {3-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. Unable to catch up, that last hand spells the end for David Saab, and he will retire to his hotel room to brush up on his Connect 4 skills.

Levy Leveled

Grant Levy
Grant Levy
Up and down for much of the day, Grant Levy has just shipped his last 8,400 in chips over to tournament chip leader Jacob Chen. Levy moved all in before the flop holding {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and Chen made the call with {A-Spades} {9-Clubs}.

The board ran out {J-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} and Chen made a pair of nines to best Levy's eights for the win. Chen stacked up ~89,000 in chips after the hand.

Ligos Goes Out

James "Andy McLEOD" Obst raises to 3,000 from the button, and Harry Ligos moves all in from the big blind, shoving in his last 11,300 chips. Obst calls.

Showdown:
Obst: {A-Clubs} {10-Spades}
Ligos: {7-Hearts} {7-Spades}

Right in the door comes the {10-Diamonds}, followed by a board of {K-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Hearts} {9-Spades}. Obst wins the race, pairing up to eliminate Harry Ligos from the field.

Da Silva Blanks Gorr

Nuno Da Silva has just eliminated David Gorr from the tournament. All of the money went in preflop; Da Silva's with aces and Gorr's with pocket sixes. Interestingly enough, Dennis Huntly announced that he'd folded ace-six when the cards were turned over. What's more, the {A-?} {8-?} {6-?} flop delivered both the case ace and the case six if Huntly did indeed have ace-six. The turn and river, though irrelevant, came {8-?}, {J-?} and Da Silva took down the pot with a full house.

The Levy Roller Coaster

Grant Levy's been on a roller coaster of a ride the past few hands. On the first hand, Levy was all in preflop with Emad Moaref. Levy held {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} and Moaref held {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. Levy flopped a flush on the {7-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} board to eliminate Moaref from the tournament and move up to 18,500.

The very next hand, Levy was all in again preflop. This time his opponent held the {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} with Levy dominating with the {A-?} {K-?}. The board ran out {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} {4-Spades} {A-Clubs} {2-Hearts}, knocking Levy down to 4,700.

A couple hands later, Levy called off his last chips holding {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} after Michael 'Sticky' Guttman moved in from an earlier position. Guttman held {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}. The board ran out {9-Spades} {9-Clubs} {2-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} and just like that, Levy was back up to 10,000 chips. Guttman dropped to 13,000.
