Play has concluded for the evening with 47 players remaining in the field. Joe Hachem, Tony Hachem, Tony G, Jamie Pickering, Rayan Nathan and Peter Pratis were among some of the big names eliminated throughout the day. Tim Heath finished the day as our unofficial chip leader, closing shop with about 180,000 in chips.

Tomorrow at 12:10 p.m., the Day 1b field will take to the felt and compete for the chance to join the Day 1a survivors on Sunday for Day 2. The field is expected to be considerably larger than today's -- the tournament staff says they're anticipating somewhere in the ballpark of 230 runners.
