After a super, high speed Day 2 saw 24 players eliminated in just three and a half hours of play, only nine players remain of our 129 Main Event starters.

A Gargantuan Masterpiece

Words I hear often, but today it's Mark Vos who has been the recipient of this compliment. Obviously, there was a slight delay before 'shuffle up and deal' was announced, but this was due to Vos who spent a good five minutes gathering up his chips. Eventually, like a craftsman fine-tuning his work, the resident Aussie finally completed his masterpiece - albeit a gargantuan one that is reminiscent of Greg Raymer's stack in the 2004 WSOP Main Event final.

"Can we get a bigger table?" requested Farhad Kia with a smile.

First Blood

Like Rambo roaring through the jungle, Mark Vos is fearless and ready to strike at any given moment. Not surprisingly, that given moment came on the very first hand where he raised it up to 9,100 preflop and was called by Farhad Kia who defended from the big blind.

On the {8-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop, Kia checked, Vos bet 12,300, and Kia called.

The {4-Clubs} turn saw a similar pattern with two key differences: Vos bet 35,000, and this time, Kia released his hand.

The somewhat groggy Fedor Los raised under the gun, and to his immediate left Simon Borg reraised all in for 75,000. It folded around back to Los, who very quietly called.

Friends of either Borg or Los suddely gathered around the table and started shouting, "One time!" and jumping up and down.
