Who Needs Premium Cards?

Matthew Kirk raised preflop to 2,500 and Ben Savage made the call in the big blind.

They took a {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop and Savage moved all in with Kirk snap-calling for his last 15,000 chips.

Kirk: {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Savage: {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and river the {10-Spades} and Kirk doubles through to 36,000 with Savage slipping to 29,000.

Stewart Scott Doubles Through Tony G

Stewart Scott got the best of the G

Preflop Stewart Scott moved all in holding {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Tony G made the call on the short-stacked Aussie Millions champion with {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

The {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades} looked good for the G, as did the {q-Spades} turn. The {9-Spades} was not the card that PokerNews boss wanted, dropping down to 24,000. Stewart Scott ironically doubles through to 24,000.

James Frendo Eliminated

James Frendo has become one of the first eliminations in the shoot-out round.

Hideously short-stacked Frendo moved all-in from the small blind for 4,000 and the big blind called blind.

Frendo {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Big Blind {A-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

The big blind had a surprisingly strong hand considering his blind call and it didn't miss with the flop coming {8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. The turn {7-Hearts} and river {q-Hearts} completed the board to send Frendo to the rail.

Joe Cabret Chips Up

Joe Cabret from the cut-off and both players in the blinds took a flop of {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

The small blind checked, to the big blind who fired out 5,300. Cabret called and the small blind got out of the way, as the turn came the {j-Spades}.

This time both players checked and moved to the river {7-Clubs}. On the river the big blind contemplated his play before firing out 9,000. Cabret considered his options for a moment before moving all in for 19,500.

This sent the big blind back into the tank. He thought for a solid four minutes before eventaully laying his hand down.

Cabret moves up to around 45,000.

Grech spiked an ace on the flop and improved to a flush on the {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} board to now sit with 85,000 chips.
