Ivanov Starts Well

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The screens show 57 entries early in level one and among the participants is Aleksei Ivanov. The two biggest scores of the Belorussian are from here at the King's Casino and Ivanov started well once again.

With the board reading {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}, his opponent in the blinds checked and then called a bet worth 3,000 by Ivanov. The latter flipped over {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a turned full house and scooped the decent pot right away to boost his stack.

Terlaan Folds the River

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Clyde Terlaan, who already cashed in the Opening Event yesterday, got involved in a few early pots. One of them saw the small blind call his open raise and check the flop of {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Terlaan bet 350 and his opponent check-called.

After the {8-Hearts} turn, the small blind checked again and Terlaan fired 1,600 to receive a call. The {4-Clubs} then completed the board on the river and the small blind overbet the pot, forcing a fold from Terlaan who flashed {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of tens and busted flush draw.

Kilic and Langrock Share same Table

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Two of the more familiar names in the King's Casino share the same table at the start of Day 1a: Serok Kilic and Sebastian Langrock. The latter just got involved in a bigger hand to see a pot of 6,200 emerge until the {J-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} turn.

His opponent in early position bet 3,000 and Langrock called out of the cutoff. Both then checked the {4-Spades} river and the player in early position showed {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} for ace-high. Langrock claimed the pot with {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} before then losing a smaller pot to the very same opponent shortly after.

The Field is Growing

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Close to the end of level one, the screens now show 84 entries. Among those to jump into Day 1a was also King's regular Zarathustra, who was earlier spotted at a cash game table. He raised from early position and found one opponent in the small blind.

Both players checked the flop of {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and the {5-Diamonds} turn. The small blind then bet the {2-Clubs} river for 500 and Zarathustra called. "Jacks?" he asked and his opponent turned over {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of kings with ace-ten kicker. Zarathustra revealed {3-Spades}{2-Spades} for kings and deuces to claim the pot.
