Dominic Picinic Eliminated in 2nd Place ($38,412)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Dominic Picinic
Dominic Picinic

Dominic Picinic raised to 150,000 on the button, Ryan Van Sanford took a short time to think and moved all in. Picinic sat back in his chair, checked his hole cards and placed a calling stack of chips forward.

Van Sanford: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Picinic: {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

The dealer squared the cards on the felt and the board came {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, Picinic didn't improve and Van Sanford won the pot.

The stacks were so close that it took a couple counts to verify that Van Sanford had Picinic covered by around 50,000 and Van Sanford won the title.

Ryan Van Sanford raised to 60,000 on the button and called when Sergio De Zen shoved in the big blind for about 200,000.

De Zen: {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Van Sanford: {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Van Sanford's cards were live and he flopped two pair on {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, while De Zen picked up a club flush draw. The {7-Hearts} turn and {5-Diamonds} river didn't get him there, and the tournament moved into heads-up play.

Christian Harder
Christian Harder

Christian Harder was all in for 293,000, and action folded to Ryan Van Sanford. While he was mulling a decision, Dominic Picinic walked away from his hand briefly in the big blind to get a drink of water, and Van Sanford called. Picinic folded right when he got back to the table, and Harder expressed irritation that Picinic had briefly abandoned his hand.

"You just get up when I'm all in?" he said, turning over {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

Van Sanford had {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} so it was a race, and it went to Van Sanford on a board of {j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Van Sanford assured the table he was calling regardless, and Harder went to collect his payout.

Aaron Massey
Aaron Massey

Barry Hutter opened in the hijack to 27,000, and Aaron Massey moved all in for what he estimated was 222,000 on the button. Upon getting the quote, Hutter called.

Hutter: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Massey: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Massey needed improvement, and the {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop did bring him a flush draw. His equity was further helped by a {j-Hearts} turn that brought a straight draw, but it was Hutter improving to a set on the {8-Clubs} river.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} to give Olshan hope with a gutter. Further outs materialized on the {9-Hearts} turn as an eight would now give him a straight. The river was a brick though: {2-Hearts}.
