Irakli Kemularia

A quirk of the seating draw has meant that there has been a heads-up battle between Irakli Kemularia and Roman Motovsky happening at one of the tables here in Level One of the 2017 PokerNews Cup.

Motovsky limped in the small blind and Kemularia raised to 300 from the big blind. Motosvky called and the flop came {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Both players checked.

Motovsky check-called a bet of 400 on the {a-Hearts} turn and the river was the {8-Hearts}. Motovsky checked again and Kemularia bet 3,000. Motovsky checked his cards before flashing the {a-Clubs} as he folded. Kemularia showed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a rivered flush and took down the pot.

Krnac Takes Most of It

Jan Krnac
Jan Krnac

There are five tables running right now and Jan Krnac had been among the most active players. In a heads-up pot against Germany's Atze$man he bet the {6-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} turn for 700 from the small blind and the German called. Both checked the {8-Diamonds} turn and Krnac's {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for two pair won the pot.

Soon after, Atze$man raised to 250 and the small blind called. Krnac three-bet to 850 and the small blind called, but check-folded the {K-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop to a bet of 1,250.

Fast forward one hand, Atze$man raised to 300 and Krnac called from the small blind. Paulina Rimkute in the big blind came along as well and the three players checked through the flop of {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. On the {K-Spades} turn, Krnac bet 450 and Rimkute folded while Atze$man called. They checked again the {K-Clubs} river and Krnac mucked to forfeit the pot.

The turn was the {k-Spades} and Atze$man bet 1,000. Both players called. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Atze$man checked to Bahman who bet 2,500. Rimkute folded and Atze$man called.

Up to 41 Entries

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

While the first level started rather slow, two new tables opened and the screens currently show a total of 41 entries in total. That number is likely to rise significantly over the next few hours with late registration open all day long, and the 10-seat guarantee satellite is also still underway.

Benoit Drops Some

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Benjamin Benoit, who took the lion's share of the partypoker German Poker Championship €5,300 High Roller a few days ago here in the King's Casino, has registered for Day 1a of the PokerNews Cup and was in action right away.

On the tail end of a hand that featured a board of {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, Ronald van de Linde bet 2,050 and Benoit called. The Dutchman showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Benoit mucked the {K-Hearts} face up.
