Day 1b of the Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series Event #55 2022 PokerNews Cup $1,100 has reached its end after nearly fourteen hours of play that saw a huge field of 455 entries be played all the way down to 57 (12.5%) at the end of the night.

The cream of the crop at the end of the night was Daniel Fuhs, who bagged a huge stack of 709,000. He was spotted with a big stack in the final few levels and was able to maintain as the leader until the bagging.

Thomas Hayward was second in chips with 675,000 after he had a very good spin-up after the dinner break and won some key hands late on to take the reins of his table and be in control. It was a similar story with Matt Iles, who bagged in third with 610,000.

Many players were unable to make it through the day but can still make an attempt tomorrow. Some of those include; Kyna England, DJ Alexander and Gary Blackwood.

The surviving 57 players will advance to Day 2, which is on Monday, June 27 at noon local time. They will be joined by the 23 players who lived through Day 1a and those that will make it through Day 1c.

PokerNews will be there tomorrow for Day 1c at the Golden Nugget for what promises to be the largest starting day yet.
