Blistering Start for Sawers

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Christian Christner opened to 500 from early position and was called by Kathy Sawers (middle position), Amanda Botfeld (cutoff), Matias Gabrenja (button) and Nikoloas Kiourntzidis (big blind).

Christner continued for 1,000 before Sawers raised to 3,500. Action folded back to the preflop raiser and he called the bet.

The {j-Spades} turn checked through to the {6-Clubs} river. Christner then check-called a bet of 5,500 and was shown the bad news. Sawers had the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a turned full house.

Onikoul in the Field

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Arkadi Onikoul
Arkadi Onikoul

Arkadi Onikoul was spotted in the PokerNews Cup field as he bet 700 on a board of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} which got the fold from his opponent and earned him the pot.

Onikoul burst onto the poker scene last year at the 2021 WSOP Main Event when he made a memorable run to 12th place, where he held a chip lead at one point during the final two tables before ultimately losing a massive and defining hand to the eventual champion, Koray Aldemir.

The Phones Have Arrived

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Jaco Brundage "Marathoner" was spotted in the field, currently using only three phones at his table for online multi-tabling. Earlier this summer, Brundage made waves on social media as he was seen using a multitude of phones while playing at a live table

He showed his full bag of phones ready to go in case he needs to get more action going throughout the day.

Lavegetto Doubles Up

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action was caught on the turn with the board reading {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and 16,000 in the pot.

Daniel Jarrell, in early position, check-called the 12,000 all-in from Fiodor Lavagetto on the button.

Lavagetto tabled his {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for trip aces and a flush draw while Jarrell had the same hand with his {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

It looked like the pot would be split but the {j-Diamonds} river completed the at risk player's flush and they doubled up.
