Christoph Vogelsang Claims a Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player in middle position opened for 450 and Christoph Vogelsang three-bet to 1,500 from the button. Both blinds folded, the flop fell {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and the middle-position player check-called a bet of 1,100 from Vogelsang.

Both players then checked the {6-Hearts} turn as well as the {A-Hearts} river. The middle-position player tabled the {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for sixes and nines, but it was no good as Vogelsang held the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} for aces and tens.

Kevin Hart Finds a Fold as Aldridge Accumulates

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

We joined a very big pot just before the break with comedian and actor Kevin Hart deep into a battle with Ken Aldridge.

With 2,700 in the pot, the board of {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} had already played out. But the bet from Hart on the river was a chunky 2,050. Ken Aldridge, who had position on the star of Get Hard and Central Intelligence and the hit 2016 tour What Now?, raised to 7,000.

"I only have a king," said Hart, and folded his hand. Aldridge turned over {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, the flopped nut flush, proving Hart's fold just as intelligent as the title of his hit movie.

Watson Runs Into a Full House

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

As we walked up to the table, a big pot was already brewing between defending champion Mike Watson and Dutchman Niels Dekker. The board of {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{A-Hearts} was already out and Watson checked. Dekker bet 6,000 from the button and action was on Watson. The latter tanked for a bit before he called. Dekker waited for Watson to show but eventually tabled his {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} when Watson didn't oblige. Watson quietly mucked, pot to Dekker.

Damian Salas Takes From Mike McDonald

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante

Action folded around to Damian Salas in the hijack and he raised to 500. Mike McDonald was on the button and called.

The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Salas checked, and McDonald bet 800. Salas called.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}. Salas checked again, and McDonald bet 2,200 this time. Salas thought about it for a moment and decided to call for a second time.

The river was the {q-Diamonds}. Salas checked to McDonald for a third time, but this time McDonald checked back.

Salas tabled {10-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines with a ten kicker. McDonald mucked his cards.

Ruzicka on the Rise

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Czech Republic's popular WSOP Main Event final table player Vojtech Ruzicka has arrived at the PokerStars Championships Bahamas Main Event here on Day 1a. He's already been involved in plenty of hands, and shared the latest with Finnish player Lauri Varonen.

We joined the action with 1,000 chips in the pot preflop. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Ruzicka bet 625 from the big blind after Varonen checked from the small blind but the Finnish player raised to 1,800, which Ruzicka called.

The turn of {6-Clubs} saw Ruzicka lead again, this time for 1,650, which was enough to take it away.

Patrick Serda Enters the Field

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Patrick Serda
Patrick Serda

Patrick Serda has entered the field and is fresh off a favorable heads-up chop at the last ever EPT High Roller in Prague last month.

Serda made a deal with William Kassouf, giving him second place and €719,000, while Kassouf took the win, the trophy and €532,500. Serda held a four-to-one lead and did not have to play a single hand heads up while taking home €10,000 more than the ICM numbers revealed.

Serda is no stranger to the EPT, taking second place back in 2014 in a turbo event for €21,900 with additional cashes in Barcelona, Monte Carlo and Prague. Look for Serda to continue to make deep runs in his hunt for a spade trophy here at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas.
